She won a primary that has a bunch of sheep democrat voters by offering more. It's like bragging about someone beating a moderate Republican in the most right-leaning districts out there by offering more that the right would be interested in. Ocasio-Cortez claims have fact-checkers working overtime

New York congressional candidate Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has excited the liberal base with her media blitz touting Medicare-for-all, the elimination of ICE and more.

But the Democrat's rapid-fire claims about the state of the economy and other issues have fact-checkers scrambling to provide a reality check.

Other claims it summarily dismissed include a May 30 interview statement that ICE is “required to fill 34,000 beds with detainees every single night.” Both the Post and Politifact note that this is an “urban legend” and that ICE was only required to maintain that many beds -- not fill them.

Just think of the cost just to maintain 34,000 beds. In the long run a wall might be less expensive to dealing with people illegally entering the USA

Some claims didn’t warrant a check, including one appearance on CNN where she asked, “Why aren’t we incorporating the cost of all the funeral expenses of those who died because they can’t afford access to health care?”

And this is the thinking we are dealing with.

"Just last year we gave the military a $700 billion dollar budget increase, which they didn’t even ask for,” she said. “They were like, ‘we don’t want another fighter jet. Don’t give us another nuclear bomb.’ They didn’t even ask for it. And we gave it to them."

As the link says, 700 billion dollars is the budget, not the budget increase. So either she misspoke about something, which is possible, or she is malicious with her math. Since waterboys want to suggest that when Shapiro was malicious in his $10k offer to debate her as an attempt to cause campaign finance fraud, we must view this as the same. Her incorrect presentation of numbers is malicious in intent.

Beyond that, this just shows how ignorant she is when it comes how the sausage is made. The reason why Congress gave more money for the production of aircraft that the military didn't want is pork spending. While progressives love to complain about how much the military spends and the profits of companies like Lockheed Martin....they are either disingenuous or too stupid to realize that a lot of this spending is requested, if not demanded, by the labor unions. Those extra and unwanted jets were pushed for because it meant more union work.

So either Ocasio-Cortez and her supporters are dishonest by intent or they are too stupid to see the whole picture. Pretty sure it's a mixture of both.

I just don't know if it's because I'm older but some younger candidates just seem stupid. If you listen to some of the "on the spot interviews" during liberal protests I wonder how did they get to that point. I saw a poll that said over 50% of democrats favor socialism.

It has nothing to do with the candidate or politician. They are just as stupid or smart as they were 50 years ago. The difference now is the amount of freehand communication on record that is done. It's impossible for even the brightest people to know mix things up when they talk that much.
