Ocasio-Cortez Slanders Shapiro After Debate Offer

Ocasio-Cortez Slanders Shapiro After Debate Offer. His Response Flattens Her.

Self-described Democratic socialist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez responded to Daily Wire Editor-in-Chief Ben Shapiro's debate or discussion offer on Thursday, just minutes after The Daily Wire published a report documenting her refusal to respond.
Shapiro offered to make a $10,000 donation to Ocasio-Cortez's campaign on Wednesday if she agreed to a debate or discussion on his Sunday Special — or, if she preferred, to use the debate to raise money for charity.

That debate would be interesting to watch.

Boothe on Ocasio-Cortez Rejecting Shapiro's Request for Debate: She's 'Unable to Defend Her Policy Positions'

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is taking criticism for comparing Ben Shapiro's debate challenge to "catcalling."

Shapiro tweeted a video on Wednesday offering to donate $10,000 to the democratic socialist congressional candidate's campaign if she comes on his program for an hour-long conversation "about all the topics under the sun."

I have two great ideas for how he can debate her.

    1. He can run and win election to Congress; or
    2. He can move to the Bronx or Queens and run against her.

Barring that, why on earth should she respond like a circus animal to some right-wing bad-faith actor on Twitter (who proposes, btw, to violate campaign finance laws)? Also, she didn't slander him, because something written isn't slander, and she didn't libel or defame him because this guy couldn't be more of a precious snowflake and in his unhinged response couldn't more perfectly display why exactly she should reject his weird, persistent demands.

    Alan,

Don't defend her. You know better.

She is making comments that would effect us at a national level including Ben.

Apparently you haven't watch some of her interviews.

She is willingly being put on tour like a circus animal and being showcased as a national face of the Democratic party. If what you do allows you to call yourself a part of the media, Shapiro absolute is and it's not out of line for a member of the media to request a conversation with or debate someone who is a national public figure. His offer was for her to come on his podcast and have a discussion. Which is what Shaprio did and Ocasio-Cortez compared his media request to catcalling. Not only is that a mornic comparison but it's also a sign of cowardace.

The only member of the media here (and I seriously laugh having to type this) that shows signs of being unhinged is you. The amusing part in this all is that outside of your political beliefs both you and Shapiro try and run the same game. The primary difference is he became a national figure and, well, he's not the locall waterboy for the Democratic party.

Forget the debate and slander crap, Alan, are you so alt-left that you would involve yourself in a post that sides with the likes of a self-proclaimed socialist and who is absolutely clueless on foreign policy?

No, I have better things to do than obsessively watch people whom I already know I disagree with.

I think it's funny that you people think she owes Ben Shapiro, of all people, anything.

Wow. His podcast. I mean, absolutely then she should by all means go on some guy's podcast. Clearly, every invitation to "debate" a right-wing troll on his podcast should be agreed-to.

Is that supposed to be insulting to me somehow? Sorry, but if you can point out where I tried to embarrass some local Republican female by offering to commit campaign finance fraud and inviting her to debate me on my podcast, then you'd have a point. I haven't, you can't, and I'll take being the Democratic Party's "waterboy" over being a member of the Trump cult.

So typical of you Allen, twisting things to suit your purpose.

I did not say Cortez owed an explanation or an interview; in fact, I said to discount the debate fiasco and the slander BS.

But you have to use my post as an example and write, “You people…”

Chill Alan, you are tripping over your ego and alt-left opinion.

    OK. I'll take the bait.

In what way am I "alt-left", Leigh?

She owes the American People an interview if she's making statements of how she wants to change the USA which will effect us. That sounds like a reasonable.

Yeah, well....not to THAT idiot. (And yes, I called Ben an idiot. Deal with it.)

Further, if she was running for President, THEN I'd certainly get it. But she's running for a House seat.

    She did.

She won a primary and is likely to be elected in November.
