    Chris Collins Should Resign Today!

I listened to the press conference held by Geoffrey Berman. He is a strong Trump appointee and he made a very compelling case.

Congressman Collins of course deserves the presumption of innocence, but I do not think that he can effectively represent the interests of the 27th Congressional District. For the good of his District, and in the interests of the nation, Chris Collins needs to resign TODAY!

I agree. But he needs to be treated like other people in the past... You know like Hillary and crew... Never under oath, immunity, crush all his smart phones and laptops.... etc

Oh I agree about the double standard Res, but Collins apparently knew that this indictment was in the pipe line. It seems to me if he valued his constituents, the Trump agenda, and his Party's control of the House, he would have announced that he would not seek re-election, leave, fight his legal battle, and if exonerated, live to fight another day.

Now, after arrest and indictment, he has put the President, the voters of the 27th, and his supporters in an awkward spot. A candidate for Congress, campaigning while under indictment? Yikes!

Although late, and after creating a cluster-thingy, Collins now has an opportunity to show magnanimity, and demonstrate that the 27th District and the nation comes first. Just my opinion.

    Bob,

I do not quite know what comment you are specifically referring to old friend, but let me mitigate your exultation. This was my first paragraph:

That means that I think he did not, and does not, have the best interests of his district and the nation at heart. I'll make it even clearer: I think his overall conduct regarding this matter has been despicable.

    Good enough for you?

Hopefully, President Trump spoke privately with Collins today, reasserted his "Drain The Swamp" message, and without tweet and fanfare, Collins leaves quietly. Just my opinion.

I don't see this happening in any matter Trump.

Well, on the other hand, I did not see any tweet in support. Absent a Collins resignation, if I were Trump, Pence, et. al., I would "throw" this narcissist under the proverbial bus, asap.

I believe you are correct that Collins and people in the highest levels of the administration had notice of this action prior to it happening. To go after a sitting federal elected official the sign-off has to come from very high in the DOJ and they do not sign-off on cases that do not stand a chance.

I listened to that presser. and read the pleadings. The Feds had arrival times, departure times, text messages, etc., and the case, unlike the "collusion" crap, is tangible and compelling.

Without reference to guilt or innocence, Collins deserves a fair trail. In that connection, the time that he must be apply to his defense would seem to render his further service to the District, and to the Trump agenda, very limited and perhaps entirely ineffective .

It is not about Chris Collins. It is about the people of the 27th and in this election year, the Trump Presidency and the nation.

Like the "Deep State" actors HipKat, Collins performed, the voters will decide.

Seriously HipKat, I'm pissed. It only empowers the leftist-whackos, and gives them an upper hand in casting America in the Socialist/Communist image of Crazy Bernie, Ocasio-Cortez, and Maxine Waters.
