Reed campaign tracks missing signs with GPS device

Technology has made it harder to get away with stealing campaign signs.
And for Rep. Tom Reed, it has made it easier to get the signs back.


Some of Reed’s signs were swiped recently in the Southern Tier, and his re-election campaign used a GPS system to get them back.
“The signs were disappearing,” said Abbey Daugherty, communications director for the Corning Republican. “Sometimes within just a few hours of us putting them up.”

Awesome idea. I wonder what GPS tracking tags they used.

WNY, it’s a commonplace that the Dems steal opponents campaign signs, literature etc. I’m aware of a Dem candidate who stationed people near polling places on Election Day to hand out his literature and tell people to vote for a candidate who wasn’t under indictment, the obvious message being that his opponent was.
