I wonder if limits will be set to how many hours can be billed.

At tonight’s Village meeting the board is going to appoint a new Village Administrator at a salary of $68,000 a year and also bring back the old Village Administrator at $100.00 an hour to assist. Didn’t Maureen Jerackas take a new Village Administrator position in East Aurora? Wouldn’t this be a conflict of interest working for two villages at the same time? If Jerackas works 40 hours in a week that equal to $4,000 a week x 52 weeks equals $208,000 a year plus they have to pay $68,000 a year to the new Village Administrator. This is insane.

What is an “Interest” in a Contract?
That's kind of like the Village of Lancaster mayor and the Special events director. The second factor that must be present in order for a municipal officer or employee to have a
prohibited interest in a contract is that the individual must have an “interest” in the contract.
Article 18 defines the term “interest” as “a direct or indirect pecuniary or material benefit
accruing to a municipal officer or employee as the result of a contract with the municipality
which such officer or employee serves.”
Whether a municipal officer or employee receives a benefit “as a result of” a municipal contract
is a factual determination. For example, ordinarily, a municipal officer or employee who
receives payment under a contract with his or her municipality would have an interest in the
contract because the payment is a direct financial benefit resulting from the contract.
A municipal officer or employee, however, does not have to be a party to a contract in order to
have an interest in the contract.
To illustrate, when a municipality contracts with a person who resides with a municipal officer or
employee, and the proceeds from the contract are used to defray common household expenses, the municipal officer or employee would have an interest in the contract because he or she receives an indirect financial benefit as a result of the municipal contract.

It looks like Depew got themselves a beauty
From the Cortland Contrarian-
The purpose of the meeting was to review administrative action taken with regard to former Finance Administrator Bryan Gazda, who was on paid administrative leave at the time of the meeting.
Mayor Feisli said that department heads had concerns about the performance of Mr. Gazda. Alderman Tobin related that council had a list of fifty-three concerns, which was reduced to sixteen questions, and presented to Mr. Gazda for his response. He did not disclose Mr. Gazda's response.
