    George Holt to plead guilty

I heard George Holt is going to plead guilty to a misdemeanor and restitution to settle the sales tax issue surrounding his diner.

Or they brought a charge he couldn't refute.

He should. I wouldn't want anyone representing me who would fiddle with his books. If it was a misdemeanor there must of been some "tampering" involved. If you were just behind on paying they would set a payment schedual and you'd pay a penality.

Taking collected sales taxes without paying it and hiding it is stealing. Stealing from the people you represent.

I think all the rest of the legislature should vote to have him removed from his seat.

George Holt pled guilty today to two misdemeanor counts of filing fraudulent sales tax returns. The returns were for 2003 & 2004. The amount involved was over $19,500 which translates to over $37,000 with interest and penalties. The Judge already stated he will not impose jail time, even though up to 2 years is possible. Holt must pay the $37,000 prior to his sentencing hearing. According to Frank Clark, Holt’s job as a legislator is not affected by the misdemeanor counts.

Though many times they've seen the way to leave.

You would not fit the profile of a typical Holt constituent.

I'm sure they're down with what he tried to do.

    While expected, still disgusted.

Agreed, if there's any shame it's that he got caught. He'll be reelected.

I agree that Holt should step down. However, I have no idea what your point is? I will give you the benefit of the doubt and not think the obvious motive. But you should explain.

Erie County needs a new DA.

I heard him on the radio basically defending George and how this wasn't related I guess you would say to his duties as a legislator.

Won't happen. Lenny L wouldn't endorse someone who can't keep the books well. How many years in a row has he been in politics.
