There are still many Americans who can’t understand why Donald Trump is president. They need look no further than the headline story in today’s shoe shine rag. Sister Denise Roche, the chair of NFTA’s board (doubtlessly due to all the experience she gained in mass transit administration while she ran a glorified nursing school), tried to sneak through massive raises for the top honchos at that pathetically inept organization. The raises, in excess of 20%, were approved without board authorization, indeed, without any notice at all. This for a senior management team who didn’t even realize that ridership on their useless system was plunging and could offer no explanation for it when the plunge became known. Roche,of course, has lived her whole adult life living in a tax sheltered world, residences all owned by religious entities and therefor exempt from tax, her income sheltered by myriad special provisions of the Internal Revenue Code because she is a member of a religious order, her pension well funded by the hard work of families who worked like dogs to pay the grotesquely overpriced cost of attendance at her former employer. The contempt she shows for the situation of average American is hardly novel; it’s the same contempt shown by Cuomo, Poloncarz, Zuckerberg, Blankfein, Buffet, Gates, Clinton, Obama, Sanders, Warren...the whole privileged crowd. Meanwhile, the unprotected, to steal a term from Peggy Noonan, continue their day to day struggle, ridiculed by Pelosi, Schumer and the Hollywoid bunch, who resent beyond belief the tax cuts provided to the unprotected by Trump. Don’t be deceived by Cuomo finally scuttling the raises. It wasn’t done out of concern for the plight of WNY taxpayers. He has a profound personal dislike of Kim Minkel and he’s nothing if not a petty son of a bitch.

Then their's widespread government coruption & mass stealing going on from the Volunteer FD's to all departmemts in city & towns. It's pretty bad when volunteer FD's get yearly 7 digit checks & many of them are millions in debt, and are on the verge of going bankrupt because they are their spending $100,000 to $200,000 a month

Too bad it's not shovel ready. Federal money is going to be awarded soon to shovel ready projects such as Interstate 11, High Speed Rail lines, Dallas to Houston, Palm Beach to Oralando, Phoenix to Tucson etc.... Amherst Line's soonest ready to break ground is aleast 10 or 11 years away or even if ever, The Federal Government gives the most funding to growing markets because it will benefit a larger number of people. It will be hard to get any Federal Funding to build the Amherst line because of the shrinking population To be considered for federal funds, several studies, environmental studies etc have be done that takes years,
