A paid department? Salaries, pension contributions, health insurance + + +. Don't you think that would result in even HIGHER taxes?

What's even more funny, just on the other side of Tonwanda Creek & over the Cambell Rd Bridge is another Fire Station, Wendelville FD Station 1 is less then 1/4 mile away and you can see it from the North Amherst Fire Station, but then again their not a manned fire station either or Paramedic Level

I know people like Grump love studies but I think this one might be worth looking at.

Leftie, I have no problem with studies that are carried out by those qualified to do them and who aren’t doing the studies at the request of a group that has a preconceived outcome in mind. Unfortunately, this is rarely the case in government sponsored or government involved studies. In fact, it’s becoming quite rare in academic studies as well.

Very good points. Sadly, studies these days are just designed to support the view of who is paying for them.

There is no way they are spending $100,000 a pop for 30 take home Fire Chief SUVs. You would have 1 "Chief" or "Captain" per hall.

    http://www.bellevuefire.org/roster.html

There is 1 "Chief" at least for Bellevue District 9

If this is correct there are 11 groups.

Worse case there would be 11.

Go To any WNY Chevy Dealer Web Site, Price a 2018 Chevy Tahoe loaded 4x4 Tahoe $65,000 to $75,000, now add all the customization
all the led lights, light bars, sirens now add all the decals & graphics, now add the radio's, now add the custom cabinets & seats

Who's the moron's paying the highest property taxes in the Country ? And yet the FD's can't do nothing for you if your having a Heart Attack, Diabetic Shock, Stroke etc..... but everywhere else in the country you have have FD's that have Paramedics that can do EKG's, starts IV's and give Meds to unclog a heart blockage etc....

    Holy crap

    http://www.paddockchevrolet.com/Vehi...kwid=575172179

    $71,195

This doesn't include as Jennifer7 states the extras.

Because we have done graphics for some fire halls I see how the "trade-ins" sort of work. Sometimes the dealer would rather sell all new lights and items versus transferring them to a new vehicle. They can then go and pull the accessories to sell separately.

You now what auto insurance costs each volly FD on having 4, 5 or 6 of these costs ? how much gas, oil & parts due to wear & tear for personal use is costing taxpayers ? and Erie County has 400+ of them, You won't find this no one else in the country

They don’t buy loaded vehicles from local dealers, they’re bought off a state bid at a set price for stock vehicles, more in neighborhood of 40k, then add lights graphics etc
