After reviewing the possible outcomes of another petitioning effort for a bond vote on the new $1.9 million we have decided not to move forward with a petition drive. It is clear to us that this administration will not permit a vote on this issue and is intent on extracting pain on its taxpayers at any cost. If the Town Board was in tune to the will of the people it would have put this latest bond up for a referendum on its own on April 24 at no cost, they deliberately did not do this. Voluntarily putting this bond up for a vote would be a nominal delay in the borrowing as they cannot borrow under this resolution until 30 days have passed.

The Town Board could still voluntarily put this bond up for a vote if they pass such a resolution no later than March 24, 2018. If you want a vote on this issue (assuming they are open to listening to their constituents) we urge you to e-mail, call and visit them and request they do this voluntarily.

It is clear to us that we need fundamental changes in our town governance. Just as in the days after the County’s red/green budget debacle that led to revisions in the County Charter and a control board we need to take action to fix our governance.

We will commence petitioning to get a vote on increasing our town board back to 5 in a few weeks.

We also believe that the State Comptroller needs to intervene by conducting a complete financial and financial controls audit. If you have not done so, please sign the online petition and share it with your fellow West Seneca voters ( https://www.change.org/p/thomas-p-di...share_petition )

They tore down the Kiwanis Center? That place was kinda cool. Exactly as you described.
