Personally, after reading another article here in Post #84 and especially the one comment, it becomes apparent that the logic behind using Military Tribunals to adjudicate this Constitutional Crisis makes a lot of sense and I can certainly see that happening as we learn how pervasive the corruption is. Sessions was activated long ago.
He appointed Huber to work with Horowitz back in 2017. Huber empaneled grand juries and has been getting lots of indictments (sealed).
Sessions got to pick Huber without having to get blessed by Congress, so Huber isn't a swap creature. The combo of Huber/Horowitz has all of the power of a SC, but none of the baggage of the swamp. They have more resources and are moving much faster.
He has to appear unbiased so he is playing rope a dope. This has the benefit of the low info voters seeing him as not a partisan and also helps him with rank and file DOJ/FBI members.
