Now, Joel Giambra, political chameleon and county executive extraordinaire, wants to legalize marijuana as a gimmick to get elected governor.
To Giambra and those of his ilk, any behavior is acceptable, provided that it brings in big money to the state.

What do you all think of him pushing legalizing pot for road repair revenue?
You know the money most likely won't be used for that in the end but he's bring that up

Giambra has some big time stones to run for governor, given his rather hapless record, so he may be more appropriately compared to a gerbil, which is less fearful than a hampster.
Whether a hapless hampster or a cunning gerbil, either way, the rodent, aka rat, analogy for Giambra is appropriate
Yup! He is only thinking about $$$$$. In today's snooze, Cuomo's administration calls it the "revenue actions" and here is how he plans on achieving that. Tax hikes on e-cigs, taxing third-party sales on Amazon & eBay, $500 million for the next four years from not-for-profit health insurances & corporations, and to say the least--wait for it--he will appoint a commission to study legalizing marijuana. State police to be involved. How much do you think this study will cost? But our wonderful governor stated that tax hikes are needed for the $4.4 billion deficit.
So Giambra and his fiscal reputation would put us in a real crisis if he were ever to be our governor. Gosh, please don't run....
Governor Cuomo today has proposed amending the state constitution to provide for a two, four-year term limitation for state legislators.
I support the Governor's call, and in fact suggest that the constitution provide for a two, four-year term limit for Governor as well. In that connection, I urge the Governor to lead by non-mandatory, personal example, effective this year.

Four more years under the state leadership of a self avowed alt-left progressive is repugnant.
We live in one of the highest taxed states in the nation, with a deteriorating public school system, with uncontrolled public sector legacy costs, and despite a Western New York Billion Dollar state investment, the governor finds the state is in a $4 billion dollar shortfall and blames the federal government.
While the country is realizing an economic upsurge and where unemployment is near an all time low (and for all demographics) the Buffalo-Niagara unemployment rate continues to rise over the past five years and stands at 5.5%; the statewide rate is 4.4% and the national average is 3.9%.
And then we read today that Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown, state Democratic chairman, is directly involved in Gov. Cuomo’s re-election and lauds him for his leadership skills and therefore as being qualified to be a presidential candidate. Says Brown: “There are a lot of frustrations when we look at Washington. There are issues like the president’s new tax law, DACA and criminal-justice issues. When you look at all the mixed messages and inconsistencies, people are already looking for a change in leadership. Governor Cuomo is a proven leader who could provide that leadership.”
It is also interesting to hear Brown declare that the drop in refugee settlement in the area is troubling because of the impact on diversity and revitalization in the City of Buffalo; a city and a state still losing population because of myriad socio-economic reasons and a Sanctuary City to boot.
And then today we read today that Cuomo agrees with progressive Democrats that the party should draw a hard line and stop compromising with President Trump to block his winning a total victory on the spending and DACA issues. He later declares that, “Bipartisanship, good will, compromise and reasonableness are sadly not in this administration’s or Congresses’ lexicon. This is a government of zealots and ideologues and their instinct is to demand total capitulation.”
You got that right, Andy. Sounds like a man of reason and compromise. But then he goes on to say: “That being the case, Senate Democrats must adjust to this new reality and understand in this conflict there is only red and blue. There is no purple.”
Whoa, Cuomo’s no-retreat, no surrender policy is not a step in the right direction to bring new leadership to a nation already mired in polarization, run by a inept, dysfunctional federal government as is the state government he now governs.
We are so screwed!
BTW - following the Percoco trial. One has to wonder what Cuomo's part in all this corruption will be. How could he not know. Speaking of Percoco, how does one get an $800,000 mortgage on a home purchased for $815,000?
