Ever been to Sinatra's Trilogy on a Saturday night?? Feels like the set of Goodfella's....
Alive or dead which is it?
Dan Herbeck of the Buffalo News wrote an article in March suggesting th Buffalo Mob is Dead and answers the question what killed it.
However earlier this month the US Justice Department Eastern District of issued a press release stating:
“ In a coordinated operation, Canadian law enforcement authorities today arrested nine organized crime members and associates in Canada, including members of the Todaro organized crime family, who are charged with, among other crimes, narcotics trafficking.”
Canadian mafia expert Adrian Humphreys in Canada’s National post wrote:
“Among those arrested in Canada are members of the Todaro organized crime family, based in Buffalo, according to U.S. authorities. The Todaro crime group was built by the now-deceased Joseph (Lead Pipe Joe) Todaro, Sr., who took over the Buffalo Mafia once led by the influential boss Stefano (The Undertaker) Magaddino.”
Ed Scarpo of Cosa Nostra News asks the question, “Is Buffalo the mafia’s dark horse?” He then suggest an informant indicates the Buffalo Mob May have up to 55 made men withover 40 active soldiers.
The website About the Mafia, after recent Todaro Crime Family arrests indicates Frank “Butchie” BiFulco is the Boss. Giuseppe “Joe” Violi who was arrested on Canada is the Underboss and leader of the Canadian arm of “The Arm”. And that Victor Sansanese is the consigliere. These leaders oversee 7-8 capos and their crews across Buffalo, the province of Toronto, Rochester, Utica, and Vegas. What do you think? Alive or dead?

When Thomas Marotta came back in the 1990's, he decided to join the Bonanno family and took half of the independent family with him to the Bonanno family. After what happened up in Hamiliton with John Papalia, Rene Piccarreto decided to be more friendlier with Buffalo. When Joe "Lead Pipe Joe" Todaro retired in 2006, Angelo Amico decided to rejoin the Buffalo Family.
Robert Panaro
Las Vegas
No soldiers, Panaro is direct with the family administration and other capos.
"About 12 to 15 members are retired," our source noted.
So about 40 made members are still active in Buffalo.
