They are just going to set up little booths on the roads leading away from the reservation. Search the cars and then charge the duty.

Sandy Beach did a pretty good show yesterday on this pointing out that passing this bill is really a stupid idea. The major motivation for passing this bill is so that "kids can't steal credit cards and buy cigarettes over the internet".

    Think about this:

    1. The federal government currently collects $6 in tax for each carton of Seneca made cigarettes. This bill means those tax revenues go away and the federal deficit will just get bigger.

    2. The USPS gets revenue for each carton of cigarettes the Senecas ship. This bill means those revenues go away, and at a time when the post office is really hurting.

    3. The Senecas estimate that approximately 1,000 people will be out of work. Those people currently are involved in the manufacture and sale of cigarettes and this bill will end those jobs and those people will go on welfare.

I think we owe our Senators a debt of gratitude for protecting our children from the evils of native American cigarettes.

    Give me a freaking break!!!!!!

The next blockade will be the Seneca's on the Thruway. I won't blame them one bit for doing it. In fact, they should do it right and blockade a big section of the Thruway in both directions so they can blow a big hole in it big enough to lose a convoy of tractor trailers in. That would keep the government busy for a while...

Really, it's disgusting how the government continues to screw Native Americans.

Right now it's business as usual for NWS (Seneca cigs). Granddaughter flew to CA today for a week of promos. She's a little worried about her job as is her brother, who ALSO works for NWS. Supposed to have been a meeting today. We'll see what transpires!

See now if we would've eradicated them all through murder and disease a long time ago we wouldn't have this problem. Then they wouldn't be able to sell our tobacco on our land.

Sandy Beech doesn't always tell his listeners the truth.

The bill states as its first and major purpose:

"(1) the sale of illegal cigarettes and smokeless tobacco products significantly reduces Federal, State, and local government revenues, with Internet sales alone accounting for billions of dollars of lost Federal, State, and local tobacco tax revenue each year"

Maybe Sandy Beech lied to his listeners because he makes money doing on location broadcasts from supposed "tax-free" shops in Indian country. He apparently knows who butters his bread.
