    9-14 Master Plan meeting

The first recording was the beginning of the meeting prior to breaking into groups.
There were 19 attendees including the Bee reporter.

We broke up into 4 groups. Each group had 2 maps. One map was of the 2 villages. One map was of the whole town.

We had to mark several different items on the maps regarding transportation, parks and recreation, residential and industrial development. Where improvement was needed, where you wanted to encourage or discourage development, etc. All this was our opinions.
We had to draw a line on the map where we would say absolutely NO development. Our view was anything south of the bike path and east of Schwartz Rd. Others had east of Pavement.

In the end each group had to pick the three most important points they made on their maps.
Of course, the husband and wife team had to have 9 points. 3 for the Village of Lancaster, 3 for the Village of Depew and 3 for the Town of Lancaster.

This next recording summarizes the findings.

Thank you Gorga! Planned on going to the master plan meeting but had to attend a ZBA meeting where like in 2012 the Flix Theater owner petitioned the board for two variances to erect a pole sign with signage twice the size permitted by code - variances that would add more traffic onto an already overburdened William Street.

The same petition was denied in 2012 and there are more reasons for denying the variances today.

I honestly thought there would be more people who would want to get involved
in shaping the future of our community. The turnout was a little disappointing
considering of those 19 attendees, at least 5 or 6 were elected officials. I saw
the town supervisor, 3 town council members, the VOL mayor and the town engineer.
If there were village trustees there which very well may be, I wouldn't know them on sight.

Is there a date for the third meeting? I don't think your every day citizen would have any idea this type of meeting was happening. I can share the date of the next meeting on our development Facebook group.

All that was said is that there will be a meeting around January 2018. The Master plan itself has to be completed by March 2018
