CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. – September 12th is Primary Day in Erie County and voters will cast their votes to narrow the field of candidates for the 2017 general election.

New York is a closed primary state meaning people may vote in a party’s primary only if they are registered members of that party prior to election day.

Democrats will choose three candidates for town board. Four are running, they are, James Rogowski, Brian Nowak, Timothy Meyers, Alice Magierski.

Conservatives will choose from Michael Kearns or Daniel Stelley Jr for County Clerk. Also on the Conservative line is Ted Morton or Susan Marrano for County Legislator.

Michael Kearns also takes on Krystyna Karstedt for County Clerk on the Independence line, while Ted Morton faces Julie Bish.

The following candidates are running unopposed under the Reform party; Michael Kearns (County Clerk), Timothy Howard (Sheriff), Stefan Mychajliw (County Comptroller), Ted Morton (County Legislator), Patrick Delany, Roger Heymanowski, and Doreen Friedrich (Town Council).
Victor Canastraro, II is running unopposed on the Green Party line for County Legislator and John Bruso is running unopposed on the Working Families line for County Legislator.
