I don't follow you. If they're paying top dollar isn't that good for the sellers? Everybody keeps saying the Chinese are going to unload all their dollars and ruin us. Where the hell else are they going to invest then? Or are they gonna put it in the worlds largest mattress?

The Chinese got their financial tit caught in the wringer earlier this year and they sold billions in $$ assets and the US economy didn't even blink.

Well it was enough for Toronto to put a 10 percent surcharge on foriegn buyers. Appreciation of real estate is a good thing. Bubbles are never a good thing as we recall 2008.
The Chinese sold treasuries. Eventually we will suffer for increasing our monetary supply with all the printing. We will be screwed when our creditors act like we will not be able to pay all that money back..
We can't so pass the popcorn./

The Chinese buy much more than they sell. Now they Russia, and India are the top buyers of gold in the world. Would you rather hold Yuann's backed by a hard assest like gold or some other currancy say dollars backed by corrupt printing out of thin air??

Back to the small home concept for the City of Buffalo.

Why wouldn't it be better to building smaller more dense homes versus overly built subsidized apartment complexes?

How does imposing a surcharge prevent a bubble? Doesn't that make the bubble worse? It artificially increases the price of the product over the already overheated actual market price based on the race of the buyer. It's amazing that a little twerp like Junior Trudeau gets away with blatant racial discrimination while Trump gets repeatedly roasted for simply wanting to enforce laws that are already on the books. You're right, the Chinese sold treasuries and it did nothing to hurt the US economy. Can the Chinese, Russians and Indians convert their currencies to gold at the bank? If not it doesn't matter how much gold they hold because the currency isn't convertible. My guess, given the histories of the countries you named, if push comes to shove the gold ends up in the hands of the commissars and maharajahs.

This inspiring tiny home community is built entirely by volunteers.

I know our local developers probably won't make as much money making these type of homes but in the end don't worry about it. A lot of what happens in Buffalo/Erie County is decided by the politically connected. The politically connected don't care about the community they care about how much money they can make in many cases.

Want to Live In a Tiny Home?

Now you can buy one on Amazon

When Amazon launched in 1995, its sole purpose was selling books. Now there’s almost nothing you can’t buy from the online retailer — including houses.

Indeed, over the past week, one particular Amazon listing has been making headlines — the “Pre-fabricated Tiny Home.” For $36,000, plus $3,754.49 for shipping, you can buy a structure that includes a bedroom, shower, toilet, sink, kitchenette and living area. And the 320-square-foot shipping container house — fully insulated, with heating and air conditioning — is delivered right to your door.
