    Honestly Grump...what's your issue here?

Do you get your undies in a bunch over every product or service you don't agree with? If you don't like Uber...don't f'n use them. It's that simple. Drive yourself or call a cab.

Leftie, don't get me wrong. I didn't say I didn't like the "service" being performed. I just think it's poor customer relations to provide it for the driver but not the rider. Personally, I'm not the type who gets my jollies from watching others. But different strokes for different folks, I guess.

    Illegal Everything: Taxi Monopolies

My guess is that this is an area with an extremely finite market for cab service. If you increase the number of suppliers of a service with fixed demand something's gonna give. It'll probably even out a bit when some of the new competitors show up at customer locations stoned or with a load on and the word gets out. The notion that Uber will reduce dwi's is patent horse dung. If people who drive drunk really cared they'd have called a cab or used DD before there was an Uber. There's nothing unique about Uber that will suddenly make the irresponsible act responsibly.

Vote for freedom, not political parties.
    Politicians need to cut spending
