One bright sunny afternoon in Lancaster , Sue* a mother of four young children was leaving home . She just ran home for lunch , now back to work ! As she was getting in her car she turned to glance at her husband . He was in his chair in the yard , he was unable to work as he was disabled .

Their neighbor was cutting his lawn , it drowned out the sound of Sue saying good bye to her husband . She started to drive back to work , not a long ride , maybe five minutes . As she was driving down that all to familiar road , life ended .

A car was hurtling down the same road , the driver was intoxicated . Sue's car was struck head on , left front (drivers side) . The larger car that struck her compact crushed her car with such force - it drove the engine into the firewall . The dash board was pushed back to the drivers seat , crushing Sue to death .

In court , there was nothing to be done . The driver had no insurance , no real income , but she did own a home !. Sue's husband decided to drop the court actions , he said , "Why wreck another family."

This a true event - it seems to repeat itself all to often in our country . By the way - because of the loss of Sue's income and the fact her husband was unable to work - he and his four children now live with his mother - as they lost their Mother and their home .

Drunk drivers kill people.

*Sue is not the victims true name - her family still lives in Lancaster so i changed it to shield them.
