One article spoke in favor of “fat bodybuilding”, which basically encouraged obesity as model to challenge traditional exercise because that somehow supports “male hegemony”. The article was published with great enthusiasm by the referees, despite the fact that it endorsed an objectively unhealthful and dangerous lifestyle, simply because it attacked someone’s twisted ideas that exercise is a way for men to enslave women. One has to be exceedingly careful anymore in reading the crappola published in what used to be legitimate scholarly journals.
