We already have public education through grade 12. Extending it 2 or 4 more years is a logical extension for the 21st century, except for those who prefer that the masses remain ignorant.
When health care was used by business as a perk to attract employees, you never heard conservatives complaining about putting a share of the cost on taxpayers via the tax deduction for the premium and the tax free benefit for the employees. Now that health care is too expensive to be used as a perk, conservatives have become protectors of the taxpayers' pockets.
