Don't you have until April 15, 2014 to do this? Why would anyone rush to do it? Is there some advantage if you do it early, or some penalty if you wait until the last minute?
Why would anyone do it considering it was passed without due process of a referendum or a vote?
Whats your strategy folks:
Register early and often,
Buy more,
Hide them,
Sell your firearms,
Stock up on ammo.
I aint tellin.;)
For all of those law abiding gun owners who are going to register their guns, keep in mind that NY State Penal Law, Section 265.04, "Criminal Possesion of a Weapon First degree" applies to anyone who possesses ten or more firearms and is a class B felony...
I guarantee they charge more than a few firearms collectors, who are trying to abide by the registration requirement, with this.
well, has anyone done it yet? or do we all stand in line on the last day?
I don't own an assault weapon so it is of no concern to me.
The ammunition purchase provision takes effect now, no more internet/mail order ammo, purchases have to be made in person, seller has to be registered with the state.
From the website:
The law will also require retail sellers to do background checks and record sales once a
New York State database is established and operational. The State database is
currently under construction and not operational, and prior notice will be given to all
sellers on a timely basis before the database is completed and any requirements are
relevant
No mention of but my understanding is that is going through.
Sell it by Jan-15-2014 - get it out of NY or register it.
All assault weapons must be registered by April 15, 2014.
As per Gov. Cuomo and his Safe Gun Act.
I Love NY
:applause:

Due to the over whelming response to Governor Cuomo's gun registration laws - the State of New York cant handle all the paper work - so if you have unregistered guns please just hide them and don't shoot anyone - Please.
The previous sentence makes about as much sense as the Safe Act does ! - Much to do about nothing. :applause:
NYS has spent an estimated $13MILLION TAX DOLLARS to increase staff and facilities to handle the influx of paper work created by the Governors new laws.
On the positive side - not one murder or assault has been factually stopped by this "Safe Act Reform" - I guess that makes it all worthwhile ! :cower:
Now if anyone listened to the Sanders/Hillary Dog and Pony Show(debate) - you heard both agree confiscation is on their agreed agenda. Google their debate and pay attention.
Now when they start taking anything that "Looks military"
- how you gonna respond then ?
I see the headlines now,
"Man found with thousands of bullets - only a terrorist would have that many bullets"
How many people own more than one box of bullets ?
How many people do you know that reload - either for target or skeet shooting ?
