interesting
my own personal experience has been that I have met many people who have just moved to Buffalo FOR JOBS within the past 6 months to a year
on the other hand, almost everyone I went to grad school at UB with have left.
it seems like the population has to stabilize someday soon
YA RIGHT :D
THAT'S A GOOD ONE
Actually it's the total opposite. Lately I have never heard of so so so many people moving out of WNY or are in the process or planning on moving out. Wait to the census comes out again. The last census that was released were stats for 2005, which showed population loses increasing
and that's before things really got bad with the auto industry and other mfg. jobs being lost, the October Surprise. and 2 control boards etc....
I wonder if there will be a point where real estate here becomes so much cheaper than the rest of the country that it actually would make economic sense for businesses and people to come here, despite the taxes?
There is already existing infrastructure here for a much larger city. All we need is people and businesses to fill it back up.
The infrastucture is dysfunctional as Timmy pointed out in another thread. And I'll add things like the american side of the falls and all along the gorge being a joke, the erie county water front including the buffalo river area.
I took these a couple weeks ago.
Not a person in site.

I was surprised to run into this. Who owns all these windmills?
http://i79.photobucket.com/albums/j1...millcranes.jpg
Are they being delivered? Or shipped out?

Here there seems to be hundreds of blades. I saw a truck hauling one blade a month ago out here in Wyoming County but it was stopped at a detour so there was no way to tell if it was coming or going...lol

In fact, I see "over-sized loads" coming through here all the time going south on rt77, east on 354, 20, etc. hauling very weird looking stuff. I saw a trailer once parked on Rt33 near the county line that looked like two arch bridges put together and had about 12 axles underneath it. In the middle was a "hanging" box no bigger than a compact car. And there wasnt just one escort "vehicle" like those crappy cars they use. There were 5 "wide load" escorts with brand new heavy duty pick up trucks with flshing lights and flags all over them, and two state troopers.
What the **** you suppose was in that box?
Oops sorry I posted the wrong picture for "the Blades...
http://i79.photobucket.com/albums/j1...millblades.jpg
oops again...forgot...those blades a crated in "pairs".
aren't those windmills going to the wind farm in New Baghdad?
I thought there was supposed to be a total of 24 at the wasteland site?
Squads of specially trained commandos are going to
1) Kidnap 250,000 people from all over the United States, Canada and Mexico
2) Brainwash the kidnapped people in secret processing centers, giving them new identities, job training, the whole shot-
3) Over 2 years, integrate the kidnapped, brainwashed people into WNY and form a whole new suburb comprised of these "Stepford" people and
4) You'll have population growth in Buffalo!
Otherwise, if people are moving into or back to Buffalo of their own free will, there should be a proportionate increase in the number of Psychiatrists to treat these poor mentally-ill imbeciles that think Buffalo, New York is a great place to live!
