1909 Buffalo's Crack Football Team!

Hire Wrecks Ryan as their coach. They’ll be winless in no time. Some of this old time stuff is fun. I once came across an old photo of a boys high school basketball team from the area in which I was raised. A great uncle of mine was one of the players. I think there were 7 guys on the roster.
I just found articles where my uncles/grand fathers bar was raided during prohibition. I'll be posting those up. INCLUDING my great grandfather when he ran the bar. Cool stuff.
I also found and item where my father was part of the barber "Union".
I have vague memories of Charley. I was only 4 when that add was placed in 1969. Before Charley there was Ralph Santangelo. After working with my father he started his own barber shop that turned into Santangelo Hair Replacement.
I didn’t know barbers were unionized! I always thought they were independent contractors who “owned” their chair as it were and shared fees with the shop owner.
I think they were just trying to form a monopoly of services. This way you didn't have a new barber coming in the scene charging $1.50 a hair cut when others were trying to charge $2.50 or what ever the going price was. That was also the time the Beetles were becoming popular so longer hair was popular. If people want long hair that wouldn't be good for barbers.
So today that haircut would cost $17.53
$2.50 in 1969 → $17.53 in 2019

Isn't it wild that was 50 years ago.
