Chart #12 is an eye opener though I am not surprised. Glad there is this information available to view. I am impressed. Since my husband's passing in 2007 I no longer attend meetings nor am I directly involved with local politics. I like to see what people are talking about. Since 2008 onward I have noticed increased public awareness of government activity. That's definitely a good thing.
Awareness is good but change is better. I'm still perplex why various local political parties take our community down the road of high taxation to the point that people flee. It must really boil down to control and jobs for their loyal party supporters.
What happens when the jobs disappear?

Correct WNY resident I think the going rate for West Seneca benefits is an additional 41%. So if you work for the Town making 40k now multiply that x 1.41 which =
$56,400 in which it costs the town to pay into your pension, healthcare etc. Most of the Labor workers get an additional 2 hrs. a day weather permitting and a occasional 8 hrs. on a weekend. Now add another 20K conservatively in overtime and your at least making 76k in pay and benefits. That's for just being a Laborer if your a Plow driver and it snows its raining $$$$. There are so many appointed positions like this and its all a friends and family plan, no test civil service test needed. And yes I know both Democrats and Republicans both reaping the benefits in West Seneca Government. Steve Pigeon doesn't care what political Party your from as long as you can help his cause. And yes, Supervisor Sheila Meegan is the daughter of Chris Walsh, and Walsh is Steve Pigeon’s mentor. And Yes Pigeon still has his greasy fingers in WS politics.
I just learned when plowing or salting on weekends WS workers are getting time and a half. After 3pm there is shift deferential and if on a holiday they are already getting paid for the day and then get an additional time and a half if working on that holiday. So on Presidents day if you were working you received double time and a half.
