not too bad huh. 400 shootings in Bflo for 04', more than 1 a day. Another stat you won't see in the Snooze. And those are only the reported calls, the actual number is larger than that. I wonder if the number will increase or decrease once another 125 Cops retire and aren't replaced. I might add, I recently heard a rumor that the City realizes their projected number of 675 won't be workable and they are looking to modify that number. Guess time will tell.

While just shootings is at 400 (as you say), the City of Buffalo has a few other statistics from 2004 that might be of interest to the lose of police officers on the streets.

51 murders
down from 60 last yr. Only about 1 a week. As I've said before, if it weren't for ECMC doing such a good job , there would be alot more murders. I am truly astonished the way they can bring people back up there.

If you notice, what would be considered the lesser of crimes have higher numbers. Burglary is almost even with Violent Crime.
