NYS AFL-CIO endorses all Democrats without dues paying members having a vote

Without allowing its 2.5 million members a open vote - New York State #AFL‐#CIO announced endorsements and the bosses chose all #Democrats - not one has posted their position on "Defund the police proposal"

-not one has vowed to fight against it but will receive Union PAC fund money !

Most dues paying members are also still unaware and most have never signed a PAC fund donation form according to federal law. They are supposed to sign a separate release to have the donations taken from their paychecks. Instead its added into and deducted as "union dues" - so not only dont they vote on who gets their money - they dont get to vote on endorsements.

AFL-CIO endorses Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez

AOC supports Defund the Police demand - Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez threw her weight behind a growing movement to defund police departments .

Ocasio-Cortez said she's "actively engaged in advocacy" for a "reduction of our NYPD budget and defunding a $6 billion NYPD budget.

The once-fringe #DefundthePolice demand is now gaining steam. Activists and liberal New York City Council members are calling for New York to slash at least $1 billion from NYPD's $6 billion budget.

Ocasio-Cortez offered up her support for the #DefundthePolice movement when laying out her policy solutions to police reforms. She also wants to end qualified immunity that shields police officers from legal accountability and she also wants to end the transfer of military equipment to police departments.
