Through November 20
MISERY D’Youville Kavinoky Theatre

For most of us, the nightmare is running across a perfectly normal-appearing person who turns out to be a psychotic.
It happens.
Annie Wilkes is one, in “Misery,” a Stephen King novel turned into a hit movie by director Rob Reiner.
There’s another version, a stage show written by one of the great figures of Hollywood, writer William Goldman, famous for the film version of his novel “The Princess Bride” and his screenplay for “Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.”</b “Misery,” you may see one of the local theater community’s accommodation to the last two-years, three stand-by’s in case something goes wrong.
This show is dominated by O’Donnell’s role because Gatto spends most of the show in his stage bed suffering from his injuries.
It’s a fascinating and depressing show of a wonderful story idea from the fevered mind of Stephen King.
See “Misery,” although you may want a quick drink beforehand in the theater bar.
