One Bills game stands out

The good news. The Bills will get a bye week right in the middle of the season before heading on the road for two big games.

There's a lot that can be said for this very tough schedule, but the one game that opens up the eyes is the late game against the New York Jets.

That game has been set for the annual regular season game in Toronto. Everyone is aware that last year's tussle against Miami wasn't that rousing a success.

Here's where the worries surface:
(1) This will be considered a home game;
(2) If the game is NOT sold out 72 hours in advance, it will be blacked out in Buffalo and Western New York. You may recall that games were blacked out in the Syracuse area, about 140 miles away. The NFL has its own version of what represents 75 miles.
(3) It will be a Thursday game and the network covering that game is THE NFL NETWORK. I wonder if that network will use that game as a hammer against Time-Warner since most viewers can't get that network on TW. EVEN IF IT DOES SELL OUT.....MOST PEOPLE CAN'T GET THE NFL NETWORK.
(4) In previous years, whenever a night/home game was scheduled and sold out, a local network was allowed to get rights to televise it along with the national network. I wonder if the NFL Network will do the same.

Those are the areas that will be studied in the coming months to see IF the Bills/Jets game in Toronto will be afforded to Buffalo on one of its local channels if it sells out. NATURALLY, IF THAT GAME WAS PLAYED IN BUFFALO -IT WOULD BE A SELL-OUT.

Let's keep an eye on these developments and a pen in hand to write a scorching letter to Senator Shumer; Representative Brian Higgins and a blistering note to former Western New York R. Goodell - the big cheese with the NFL.
