Press Release
.....
Davis for Congress Announces NEW DAY, NEW SCANDAL, NEW COVER UP Tom Reynolds tries to deceive his constituents.
Congressmen taking million-dollar bribes from defense
contractors (imprisoned "Duke" Cunningham), Choctaw Indian tribes shoveling gambling money to corrupt lobbyist Jack Abramoff with ties to hookers, poker and spies at the CIA. These are just a few snapshots of everyday life for Tom Reynolds in Washington.
So what does Rep. Tom Reynolds do about it? He attempts to mislead us by sponsoring a fraudulent so-called "Lobbying Accountability" bill, H.R. 4975. This bill, which Tom introduced on March 16 and voted for on May 3, does nothing to stop corrupt elected officials from providing earmarks to
special interests for bribes and living high on the hog while multinational corporations and taxpayers foot the bill.
The bill bans corporate sponsored travel, but onlyuntil after the next election. That's very handy for Tom Reynolds since he's one of the top corporate jet frequent fliers in Congress.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Tom's bill rejected banning gifts from lobbyists. Also convenient Tom has made more trips with lobbyists to lavish fundraisers and golf outings than he has made trips to Western New York.
Tom voted against an amendment that would ban insider trading of stocks by House members. You heard that right House members can buy and sell stocks based on insider, non-public information and it's perfectly legal.
Tom Reynolds spends time partying with corporate lobbyists and then votes their wishes for CAFTA and Most Favored Nation Status for Communist China. That sends good-paying jobs like those at Bernzomatic, Delphi, and GM to China says Jack Davis, the Erie County industrialist fighting to save American jobs. Davis is the Democratic Congressional Candidate opposing Reynolds.
As Congressman, I will not accept anything of any value
whatsoever from lobbyists and will vote against Most Favored Nation Status for China.
