Cross Creek Worksite Floods Again
By Gary S. Howell
Feb 19, 2008, 15:10
For the second time this month, the Cross Creek sewer site was breached by flood waters.
The National Weather Service Forecast Office Hydrologic Outlook , describes flooding conditions as above normal in Western New York. The heightened condition is due to rapidly changing fluctuations in temperatures, accompanied by rain and snow showers.
This weather pattern is not unusual in Western New York, for this time of year.
Due to high turbidity in Ellicott Creek, it is impossible measure the amount of sediment, if any, escaping from the construction site. It may take a few days for the water to clear and visible evidence of seepage to appear.
