I posted a link to the petition on SpeakupWNY's Facebook page ( https://www.facebook.com/SpeakupWNY-68877845865/ ). I also paid to have it boosted to people in Erie County.

Hopefully, this isn't the same Joe Lombardo that started the petition

I'm thinking the petition starter Joe Lombardo was the one from Clarence who ran for their school board last year.
Another words, not the same guy.

The Erie County Democrats have announced their intentions not to endorse Flaherty. The status quo politicians are going to do their best to run him out of office.

They cant risk his proposals gaining any traction - they are so protective of their "Party Patronage" they will steam roll anyone trying to make changes that would benefit tax payers.

Parks and Highway Supervisors have historically been their best tax funded way to control local voting blocks. By having their Party Committee Chairman and Members placed in these positions they also control the hiring of local tax funded employees.

Its all about control of tax funded jobs and votes.

The most pathetic thing is - so far the petition only has 17 names on it:https://www.change.org/p/erie-county...edium=copylink

As I said a few posts back, the Dems were gonna bounce this clown in a minute over this. Otherwise half the county court staff would be out of work. And whoever said it would apply to the towns is full of it. The county legislature has zero control over the hiring policies of towns.
