Village's Main St to get face lift

Its seems like when West Main Street or the Villages lack of corrective actions are concerned - there is quite a history of same !

With all the tax dollars that have been spent and wasted - rents collected from buiness's and other agencies including the Town of Lancaster and Erie County - we should have something more to show for it.

WHERE DID ALL THE MONEY GO !

Some residents have called for audits for over 15 years - no true explanations/documents were ever given.

There was even a businessman who wanted to buy the BOCCE BUILDING - he was usurped by the Village inventing the Village Development Agency and Supervisor Giza granting them IDA finance and even down payment assistance.

This to block a private investor from buying that property and putting it back on the active tax rolls. WHY ?

The Village area has been all but ignored as far as dedicated local governmental investment.

They've always been "Waiting" for things to "Pick Up" ! Yet instead of reinvesting in infra structure and such - they chose to create MILLIONS of dollars in tax funded patronage.

Typical Lancaster - now some of those same tax subsidized players will stand up for a news article taking credit for spending more tax dollars.

Now they use tax dollars to fix what they were paid to over see in the past, yet they ignored it.

Some work was done and windows were replaced, then the project stopped. Since then, there has been more issues with outside appearance.

Forgive my confusion, was these grant monies under Mark Aquino's purview? If there was grant monies that should have been used, then where is it?

Part of the point here is there is so many "Boards" and Agencies involved yet nothing of any true long term value has been accomplished. You have Village & Town Board - Preservation Board - Lancaster Town and Village Developement Members and Building Inspector to name a few.

Yet for over fifteen years and millions of wasted tax dollars - we are left with a empty parking lot. Yes there is a SAV-A-LOT store - but they tried to drive them out too - WHY ?

Where has all the grant money gone - where did all the money go that was spent managing and maintaining the BOCCE Complex - who received maintenance work pay checks -

Even while the LIDA Chaired by Supervisor Bob Giza forgave their loans
- the insiders kept getting paid !

The same Politically Connected people control all these Boards and Committees

Insiders have bought and sold buildings and received tax funded gifts to upgrade their properties. The few on the "Outside" have been left hanging and are told, "Go ask your County Rep - go ask your Senator for grant money" - all while the Building Inspector turns a blind eye.

Millions and Millions of real estate and development related tax dollars has flowed into Town Hall. Year after year - Millions has been used to create tax funded Patronage - tax funded Cadillac style benefits - top shelf tax funded pensions. That has been the Controlling Members Prime Objective for over 25 years.

Yet in the re-election material they promise to fix the roads, water system, sewers and so on. Its hasn't happened - no true long term plan - no budget line dedicated to infra structure upgrades or repair.

Going forward we will see taxes rise to pay for millions and millions in over looked repairs !

Repairs and work residents have asked for and brought to the Town and Village Boards attention for over 20/25 years.

You can't blame the Dem Controllers and they ain't taking responsibility either !

Although he resigned from the Lancaster Town Board - Mr.Aquino is still being paid for managing the financial records for the Village Developement Agency - even after multiple repremands from the state of NY for not forwarding proper financial reports.
