Highway super's spring fundraiser also had a table bought and paid for by same law firm investigating them..But lets keep going after Alice. As far as im concerned she is the best choice we have to run and be elected as our Next Supervisor!

If Alice wasn't endorsed by Mary and by the previous click of people who controlled the Cheektowaga Democratic party you may over look some items but in the end that is what it is.

I'm support the less of two evils in this case.

Given that, the only way to lower, or perhaps hold the line, on property taxes is to cut spending through elimination of waste and more efficiency. But there is only so much that can be done in that regard to lower the budget. It should be done, but it ain't going to cut taxes in half.

Ted's problem was that he wouldn't define the specifics of his cuts, which then left it to his opponents to define the cuts for him - resulting in the "he'll cut senior citizen services and facilities" claim, which he couldn't dispute because he chose to keep his budget cutting specifics secret.

it's too bad we can't have voters vote on line items in each budget, even if it would was just an advisory vote, it would at least bring the issues to the voters.

I'm learning. Not the "majority of people" (property/business owners in town) but the majority of registered voters who belong to the Cheektowaga Democratic Party and what parties compete against them for control. Right nogods?

I'm not for either candidate...they are all from the same "pod" and therefore will bring only more of the same.

Let me remind everyone what that is: Nepotism, cronyism, finger pointing, mismanagement, lack of accountability, spending of our tax dollars on witch hunts. increased property taxes which leads to further loss of population (already down 25% from 1990) and higher taxes for the rest of us to cover the loss of revenue from tax payers that have abandoned properties and fled the town.

Not to mention the talk that the board is going to make every town property owner cover the 10's of MILLIONS $$$ for the repairs for the sewer overflow issues in the north part of town....even if it is not your sewer district and your sewage doesn't even flow through them pipes!!!!

Mark my words it is coming!!!

[QUOTE=nogods;1570395]Of course we don't need all the services and facilities that are provided by our taxes, but the majority of people have consistently voted to keep the current level of services and facilities, and that means keeping taxes to pay for them. Just like the people who voted to keep their village governments even though it cost more in taxes to have a village government.

I will always dispute statements like these, "majority of people have consistently voted" or " voted to keep their village"
    - if you take the average vote counts for most elections you'd see they are pretty close in numbers.

When you consider the percentage of tax funded voters,
    - people who directly or indirectly have a employment or financial interest in keeping things as they are
    - When you have any where from 10-20% of the "Repeat/Prime Voters" that are themselves tax funded/employed.

That's what sways the results for the most part.

Given that, the only way to lower, or perhaps hold the line, on property taxes is to cut spending through elimination of waste and more efficiency. But there is only so much that can be done in that regard to lower the budget. It should be done, but it ain't going to cut taxes in half.
No it won't cut taxes in "Half"
    - but you could hold the line
    - you could reduce patronage and waste
    - you could reduce costs of projects by removeing the insider deals
    - That could be done !

Ted's problem was that he wouldn't define the specifics of his cuts, which then left it to his opponents to define the cuts for him - resulting in the "he'll cut senior citizen services and facilities" claim, which he couldn't dispute because he chose to keep his budget cutting specifics secret.
So that means its fair for your people to lie about what he "might do" - That says allot about you/their integrity !"

It's too bad we can't have voters vote on line items in each budget, even if it would was just an advisory vote, it would at least bring the issues to the voters.
Now there's a idea that would be a eye opening miracle - Politicians would have to actually, honestly, openly explain where the money goes and why !

Or atleast a year end statement of the actual spending in every Department/Service as compared to the budget that was adopted for that year.

Holy Sh-t would voters be crying - lynching's may occur - what a effective form of term limits that would be !

Ted also said he was not like the typical politician (of course, 4248 also said the same thing about himself way back when, and we saw what that led to).

Then Ted "Cruz" Morton goes out an hires the Republican Town Chairman for his only staffer in his office.

Then Ted "Cruz" Morton goes on one of those taxpayer-paid witch hunts you all decry against the former group that led of the county legislature, and comes up with NOTHING, other than his own Republican campaign manager getting caught with a taxpayer-paid telephone.

Then Ted "Cruz" Morton goes on another witch hunt against Kevin Hardwick's assistant, who as a whistleblower, should NEVER have been targeted.

Then Ted "Cruz" Morton goes and accepts campaign money from Tonawanda Coke, yet, he has the gall to try and win the Green Party nomination.

Then Ted "Cruz" Morton goes and votes for more neighborhood pollution by siding against regular neighborhood people, and for a crematory running in a heavily-populated residential community.

Yeah, Ted "Cruz" Morton is sure not a typical politician.

    HE'S MUCH MUCH WORSE!!!

Is it any wonder he has 4248's ever-loving support?

Breezy - what did you do - sneak out of Lancasters Town Clerks Office early again ?

It was your partner Nogods who wrote, "Ted's problem was that he wouldn't define the specifics of his cuts" End Quote . -

Your continual attempts to link me to Mr.Morton is ridiculous and boring. Come up with something new.

Even your friends are laughing at your gibberish. The worse part is - we can expect your posts to get worse and worse.

Now , go to your Party Friends bar and get your two free beers and your pats on the head - Good Party Boy - Good Boy !
