Why doesn't Brenda Christopher follow her own words of wisdom?
Christopher's quote, “Nothing opens doors more than problem solving. Nothing closes more doors than not being able to solve problems.”

The first part of the quote - Nothing opens doors more than problem solving
Problem: You have an issue with the American Indians being offended by a team nickname
Problem solving: Change the name to one that is not offensive to a segment of the population.

Exactly what the BOE is attempting to do.

The second part of the quote, Nothing closes more doors than not being able to solve problems.
Problem: You have an issue with the American Indians being offended by a team nickname
Steadfastly refuse to admit there is an issue with the nickname being offensive to the American Indians.

Christopher - Redskins Forever - problem unsolved

It is no secret that Christopher and Depczynski are riding a wave of discontent. (As you stated: Am I happy the name is gone - no.)

However, you must admit that Mrs. Della Neve, as a name change supporter, will be taking votes from Buchert and Nowak.

Anecdote from the kids deciding on new mascot name --- "Unicorns" received two preliminary votes...
    True story.
And where did you get that Mrs. Della Neve was a name change supporter. She has had nothing to do with it at all and has never participated in that crazy FB page so please do not spread lies.

the NYSED asked all districts to stop native mascots 12 years ago. there has been a state wide and national trend going on for decades. redskins is the most inflammatory of the native american themed mascots. you woudl have to have your head in the sand to think that the lancaster administration caused this in 2014.

i believe wendy d will take more votes away from kelly than the incumbants (but she does take away from both). people are going to vote pro-administration and moving forward or vote to replace. a vote to replace now has another fork in the decision making process.
Mrs. D will garner her own votes from her own supporters.

If pressed, do you think she would choose a side?

I sincerely wish her all the best.

I cannot answer for her. You should have asked at Meet the Candidates
