    Breezy is right.
Towns with 100% equalization rates as Clarence and Lancaster do.
Niagara county- $8+ range per $1000 assessed value
Cattaraugus county $13+ range per $1000
    Genesee county - $9+ range per $1000
    wyoming county - 8+ range per $1000
    Orleans county - $9+ range per $1000
Erie county -$5+ range per $1000

Well, from my view, that was a cold-hearted mistake, especially since the clinics were turning a profit. Mark Poloncarz reopened one of the three last year, and I support that. After all, the clinic was turning a profit before it was shuttered by Collins, and once closed I would assume that people simply went to the emergency room for treatment, at a huge cost to taxpayers.

Your angst here is very misleading anyway, in terms of Poloncarz and the "Highest taxes in the country, Medicaid overwhelming everything else and bloated government. His solution is MORE taxes." As a homeowner myself, I've read a lot over the years about that, and like you I sure do not like taxes, but you are anything but fair. Heck, you mislead readers, NY The Vampire State.

It's the schools and local governments that provide the taxes that go way over the top, not the county or Poloncarz. The county is the lowest tax, and the county here (Erie County) is among the lowest of the low in the State of New York. Poloncarz has ZERO influence on the school tax or the town/village tax.

Are you sure you're not referring to Dino's town taxes???
Safety Net? We need jobs for people and tell every able body to get to work for Christ sake. Please tell me your plan to make a large safety net sustainable in Erie County? If you want to be a socialist you should move to Canada or someplace in Europe.

I don't mislead anybody. Medicaid does consume virtually all property tax here. If the road program was well funded the roads wouldn't be in the crap shape that they are. We have roads collapsing, making them impassable and it takes almost a decade to fix them. Tonawanda Creek rd, Hopkins rd etc. Why should DMV fees be robbed to pay for social services? NY has the highest registration and DMV fees. Those are not anyones to just take and do as they wish.

I don't live in Lancaster BTW.
    Democrats & Republicans Suck Alike.

I don't believe County taxpayer money should be wasted on Arts and culturals as Poloncarz does. They're certainly are not a necessity

Every year Dino tries to reduce the waste in the town clerk's office but the Dems keep the position. He also wanted to put a hold on hiring a police officer until contract negotiations are complete. If the negotiations will result in more money to be spent than was budgeted, that appointed police officer will be laid off. Then what are we accountable to pay his unemployment benefits. If we would dissolve the police department, our taxes would be more inline with Clarence or Elma. We need to get rid of the democratic bloat that inflates our taxes.

The roads this year, and at this time of the year, are always a mess. What else is new?

What I find funny is that regardless of the fact that wny is a democrat paradise, with lockstep morons tripping over themselves to pull the lever with the D after the name, some how it's republicans fault that this area is in shambles.

Republicans in general, and NY republicans specifically, suck. The good news is they don't have any power. The real power has always been democrats, and look how well that's been working out. Especially for the blacks they pander to.

That's not as much as you may believe, and down millions from where it was before Giambra.

Also, the Republicans in the legislature also supported the cultural spending in the budget, including a few bucks for our Lancaster Opera House.

I guess one person's support for cultural funding, is also a balance for another person's Buffalo Bills funding; however, add up all the cultural funding for 2015, and it does not come anywhere close to the Buffalo Bills funding.

And again, even the GOP supported the modest cultural spending for 2015.

[QUOTE=NY The Vampire State;1521429]This guys got to GO!

Once again, NY The Vampire State needs to do his homework before posting such an inaccurate post, and also for using "cancer" as the heading. Maybe he hasn't lost anyone to cancer, and I hope he never does. Your use of this terrible illness for political purposes is despicable to say the least, NY The Vampire State.

When I was holding my dad's hand as he was dying a few months ago, the last thing I would think was some clown using such an illness to make political points on a website. Shame on you NY The Vampire State. Sir, have you no shame?

Anyway, I spoke with a pal who works in the county's financial department, and the results are in!

Poloncarz has budgeted more funding for roads and bridges then either Chris Collins and Joel Giambra (except Joel's first year in office when he spent Dennis Gorski tobacco settlement money on roads/bridges). No exact figures to report, yet, and I hope my pal comes up with exact figures.

Buffalo News last week: "The 2015 county budget includes $27.1 million infrastructure improvements on roads and bridges,$2 million more than was budgeted in 2014, before the Legislature voted to increase funding by $5 million drawn from surplus funds."

Seems to me there already is a dedicated road fund and it's called the county budget!!!!

Jacobs is a scam artist on this one. Shame on him!

What party is responsible for having to work 114 days before you get to keep the money you earned?
