Red Skins banner - who paid for it ?

Just curious, when I get sunburned, my skin gets red, would it be OK if they kept the Redskin name, but get rid of the "Indian" mascot & "feather" or anything that "looks" to possibly degrade Native American Indians ? Is this compromise OK ?

Nope...what you describe would be "rednecks"...another good suggestion that more properly reflects the values being espoused by the supporters. They could use the confederate flag and a nose as their symbol. might as well go all the way.

Are they considering changing the mascot to "the dagos"? Certainly, no one of Italian descent would be upset by being made mascots of a high school with a pejorative term. Or maybe they should change it to "the Polacks" or "the Kruts" to better reflect the Lancaster demographics. Or the "Can't Understand Normal Thinkers" to reflect the air head blond on TV this morning claiming they should continue to claim a race of people as a mascot with a derogatory term because it has been that way for 58 years. Ignorance apparently gets better as it ages.

They could call them the Lancaster Limeys. That wouldn't offend me and the British half of my heritage or the Cayuga Krauts for the other half of my heritage. I'm a proud Limey/Kraut and would NOT feel offended.

My face, arms, legs, back, etc. ALL get red, plus "Redneck" seems to be an accepted "target" in our vernacular as a famous comedian does an entire routine with it, it's OK to call them the Redskins using my logic as long as ALL "Indian" references aren't used like the mascot, the feathers, etc.

A private person performing a comedy routine is a lot different from a public school using a race of people as a mascot by referring to them with a historically derogatory term.

Was wondering if Brenda Christopher was on the Redskin bandwagon when they built a home in Orchard Park and sold their house in Lancaster in 2013? Did she regain her Redskin liking when they sold the home in Orchard park and purchased again in Lancaster in 2014? Is this why she bowed out of a previous school board election and it has been reported she's going to run again this year?
