Gov Cuomo asked to resign on alleged interfering in anti-corruption panel report
    July 24, 2014
New York Democratic governor, Andrew Cuomo is under severe pressure from critics to resign following his alleged meddling in the report of anti-corruption panel he established last year. The Moreland Commission, according to reports by the New York Times, had commenced investigation into alleged public corruption perpetrated by political firms hired by Cuomo, and other major donors to the governor’s 2013 political campaign.

Cuomo Silent After NY Times Report Details Restraining of Anti-Corruption Commission

Governor Andrew Cuomo was silent today in the wake of a lengthy report by The New York Times that said his administration repeatedly interfered with the work of an anti-corruption commission Cuomo, himself, created, with a top aide even calling back subpoenas that were issued to political allies of the governor's. NY1's Zack Fink filed the following report.

As long as people continue to take endorsements from the local Erie County Democratic Party and higher we will just get more of the same. Carl might not have been the most polished governor we ever had but I'm pretty sure we would not have seen the headline "Paladino Under Investigation by Feds for Shuttering Corruption Commission"

Go read Alan's opinion on this topic

I wonder if Astorino was a democrat if Alan would support him.

The Republicans are consulting their lawyers (The Republican Nogod types). The question is - "If we come out and persue what Cuomo is accused of as being "Impeachable" - can't they then use it on our guys too - if so - be quiet" -

Voters in New York view corruption in state government as a serious issue, yet only about a third of them have followed recent developments about Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo’s disbanded Moreland Commission closely enough to be able to offer an informed opinion, according to poll results released Monday.

The New York Times reported three weeks ago that the Cuomo administration repeatedly interfered with the work of the corruption-fighting commission that Cuomo appointed. The paper cited one example in which the commission withdrew a subpoena it had issued to a firm that had done work for the governor’s campaign after a top Cuomo aide called a commission co-chairman and told him to “pull it back.”

Since the Times report, U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara in Manhattan has amplified his interest in investigating the relationship of the Governor’s Office with the commission, whose work was halted after nine months.

While the news coverage of the controversy caused a stir in political circles, it has barely caused a ripple with the average voter. Two-thirds of voters polled last week by Siena Research Institute said they were not familiar with the Moreland Commission or its work.

When main stream printed media plays "down" a story - and the TV news ignores a issue - its easy to understand why voters , readers or average working folks pay no mind to an issue.

The pollsters/interviewers can ask all the correct questions and then excuse the lack of interest by inferring people don't care - that's wrong !

What do people expect that Gov. Cuomos brother Chris Cuomo is gonna do a story on his brothers manipulation of the Moreland Commission ? Its also a well know fact that most of the major news provider's employ many wealthy sons and daughters of controlling Democrat Families.

I'm surprised that Alan has hammered on this since it came to light.
