Adam Dickman didn’t win the election as much as John Abraham lost it...remember the quote” All politics are local”. True to the words, this applies to this particular election in spades...John’s credibility in certain areas of the town took a huge hit because he failed to follow through. Word of mouth cost him dearly...when a curious voter only has to make one phone call to verify a statement is true or not spread like wildfire throughout the sub division...his failure to follow through may have very well cost him his election....I beleive it did...

It's in the past now. Move on and hope the new board makes decisions that are in the property owners best interest.

You are speaking in tongues, Mike.

What is that one thing that Abraham failed to follow up on? Seriously!

Seriously, gorja, that's it in your opinion?

I highly doubt that was the coup-de-grace. There were so many people after Abraham's and daddy's ass right from the get go that it's a testament to the strength of the Abraham/Coleman/Trapacki coalition that he did as well as he did.

I wasn't speaking in general, Lee. Just Mr Wehner's past pet peeve.

I well understand that, gorja, and was trying to make the point that that sidewalk issue, important at the time and to the neighborhood, was as important/analogous to the campaign as a pimple on an elephant's behind.

LOL... Dickman bested the whole field by a good margin, and Abraham brought up the rear by a good margin. What a ridiculous statement.

gorja, it's not JUST a sidewalk issue...it's an ADA ISSUE...The Americans with Disabilities Act HAS BEEN ignored for years in the town...Every once and a while, if the grant money is allotted, a token gesture is addressed...but for the most part the town has done little for ADA requirements...Councilman Abraham's error was not addressing the issue upfront with his constituents and act accordingly...he lost virtually every vote and the votes of brothers, sisters, mothers, fathers and friends...the numbers speak for themselves...the results were costly...

The town did put in for ADA accessibility as their 'want' for this year for Community Development Block grant money

That’s the rub gorja these developers stroll into town, build up sub divisions, fall behind on taxes and then the town has to beg for grant money to follow ada requirements....how about the developers being responsible for ada requirement before getting permission to build...

The developers are still skipping sidewalks any chance they get.

That’s just it, where is the Town board and planning board....why can’t the Town tell these developers to comply with ADA regulations or build somewhere else...also the TB could put an end to this sidewalk issue by insisting on 100 percent sidewalks when high Percentage of lots are developed...say like 75 %...How about a planning board member devoted to ADA issues...that might help
