appointed in 90 , elected in 91 and 95. And now he sits on a board that is suppossed to save the city. What a joke. This board is turning into a political circus, and it isn't even seated."Lets see who can influence it most " There is no way any company chairman that benefits from any city, state or federal money , should sit on this board. All they will do is make sure they continue their multi million dollar tax breaks. What a farce.. I will have to move out of this county, like sandy beach.. Any city resident that votes for giambra, would have to be a moron. This guy wants you to be taxed to the constitutional limit, all the while holding a bag of gold. Whoever is running against him is getting my vote.

Well, you'll be one of the six people who vote for Dan Ward. Ward blew up last night at the Amherst town meeting and was the lone vote against eliminating a town political position....I think comptroller.

Yes, that's the type of bold leadership and calm hand we need running Erie County.

I can't wait until Giambra smokes this guy by 20 points and the naysayers will have to admit Joel has a mandate for change.

I met dan. I acutally like him. I haven't followed his career but over all if you look at his voting record on issues and WHO he doens't take "Bribes" opps campaign contributions from he's not bad.


I would of blow up too, have you ever watched thier board meetings? We should call it the "Puppet show" or perhaps the "High school click" or perhaps "the blind leading the blind" ?

Honestly we do not have qualified people on most town boards. They are slated in to gaid power and positions.

I think that the control board is on the way a lot more people are going to be woken up. I think it's time to just purge or as TDORAN said, enema time

Is it just me, or does King Joel being on the control board, represent a conflict of interests? Sure he is county executive for the county for which Buffalo is in, but can he make decisions, such as possible mergers of city and county departments and sales tax sharing, without also representing Erie County's and his own personal interests ahead of the city of Buffalo's? It is knock on him personally, or his steller ECC education, but he cannot be on the control board and not also be thinking of how the control board's actions will affect his standing among suburban voters. For the same reasons we do not allow residents of Hamburg to vote in city elections, Joel Giambra should not be on the Buffalo control board. While I, like many voters, hope that Joel Giambra, and the county government will cooperate and support the control board, it is quite obvious that King Joel has no place there and should step down.

Perhaps the residents should put thier own control board togeather. Screw the idea of "our" state goverment telling us who will make the decisions.

Look at the great decisions they have made in our behalf as it is. Seems most decisions are self serving than the concern of the common residents.

I didn't expect any politicians at all to be near the board more or less on the board.

Perhaps we should call Hillary, you know, that lady that came from another state to collect a paycheck until she decids what she has to do with her life and ask her to talk to President Bush for us. Ask him to bring in a federal control board instead. A federal control board with a very large hand to wipe away a lot of the bad decisions our local leaders have made. No games, no influence just the basic facts. A group of people that can say, Giambra, Tony, etc etc... learn how un-employement works all your services will not be needed after...... yada yada.

I dont think our local elected officials realize how many lives they effect with thier games and decisions.

Just picture albany if they knew that was a posibility. "Hey George" how are we going to hide this and that. "Hey George" how are we going to explain all this dead weight. "Hey George" how are we going to explain all this graft? The list goes on.

I dont have a clue. I wondered that myself. I dont think there are any politicians lately that would even fall into a class of "king". It takes more to be a king than take the residents money and dole it to a court of jesters.
