    Chicken wing soup?

    Anyone have the recipe for Chicken wing soup that Danny's near the airport and near the Bills stadium, is famous for?

    I have found some 'basic' recipes to start with, but I can't seem to get their exact flavor. I am sure it is a family recipe they wouldn't want to share

    Here's the one I use:

    * ½ lb. prunes
    * 1 tablespoon lemon juice
    * ½ cup sugar (scant)
    * 1½ teaspoons butter
    * 1 tablespoon flour

    [edit]
    Instructions

    1. Wash prunes and soak in enough cold water to cover.
    2. Cook in same water until soft.
    3. Remove stones, cut prunes in quarters, and mix with sugar and lemon juice.
    4. Reduce liquor to one and one-half tablespoons.
    5. Line plate with paste, cover with prunes, pour over liquor, dot over with butter, and dredge with flour.
    6. Put on an upper crust and bake in a moderate oven.

    I don't think the Danny's recipe has Velveeta. It is some other type of cheese. I also think they may use some sour cream or maybe ranch/blue cheese dressing in there to make it creamy. Their soup is the best. Anyone work at Danny's and want to divulge the secrets?

    Chicken Wing Soup has not exactly been endorsed by the WNY Cardiology Groups............. Except by the cardiologists that are behind on their Mercedes Benz payments.......... Is there a fat free , low salt version ? Take the skin off , use Benecol , Frank's Hot Sauce , tips like this ?

    Well if I'm reading the BPP weight loss tips correctly, replace the butter with more chicken broth (use the low sodium variety), use skim milk, wheat flour, soy cheese and skip all the various salts .... the rest of it shouldn't be too bad.

    How did I do BPP??

    Amazing wing soup recipe!!

    You just have to try this recipe for chicken wing soup that was inspired by Danny's. It's goooooooood. And ideal for football season. Let me know what you think if you give this recipe a try!!

    1 medium sized white onion- about 1 ½ cups, chopped finely
    1 stick of butter
    1/4 cup white vinegar
    1 Tbs chopped garlic
    16oz shredded Monterey Jack Cheese
    1 cup blue cheese dressing
    1 cup chopped celery
    2/3 cup shredded carrot
    2 cans chicken broth (29 ozs)
    1 can cream of chicken (10 ozs.)
    1 can cream of celery (10 ozs.)
    Chicken, about 3 cups chopped
    Chili powder, salt, pepper
    ½ cup hot sauce

    In a big saucepot, melt a stick of butter with ¼ cup white vinegar and saute the onion and garlic for about 10 mins.
    Add 3 cup of finely chopped chicken to the mixture, and sprinkle in some salt, black pepper, a tsp of chili powder and ½ cup of hot sauce. (You can use raw or cooked chicken- raw chicken makes it more flavorful- just make sure its finely chopped or even quickly through a food processor).
    You can also add any wing sauce you may like or own- a ¼ of a cup or so, in addition to the hot sauce. Cover with a lid and let cook for appx. 20 minutes.
    Next add 29 ounces (2 cans) of chicken broth, one can of both cream of chicken and cream of celery soup, a cup of celery and appx. 2/3 cup of finely shredded carrot, and the cup of blue cheese dressing (not chunky blue cheese). Let simmer, covered at low heat for 45 minutes (or until celery and carrots are soft), stirring constantly.
    Finally add the 16 ozs. Of shredded monterey jack gradually, stiring the whole time. Simmer for another 3-5 minutes and serve.
