Seriously where else can you offer up 40 mil or so and have some one say "Nah pass"
Back in the '70s the company was called "Global SA" and both the Courier Express and The Buffalo Evening News were all over its' magical transformational abilities.

Does any old timer other than me remember this?

It is history repeating itself.

They were entertained like visiting Maharajahs, and in the end were a fraud. No so different than today.

Roger and Me

I'm not in Michael Moore's camp, but rust belt cities' revival all start and end the same way. Failure.

Maybe the politicians were a fraud, also?

For entertaining such a pie-in-the-sky design?

We've been bs'ing about this for over 5 years! I wonder how many tax dollars were spent on this.
Actually, the courting of Bass Pro began in 2001, so it's closer to 10 years than 5. It only became "definite" in 2004.

Good riddence.

It was NEVER really going to happen, bottom line.
Exactly. It didn't take them 9 years and $40 million in bribes to get the Toronto store built ... and it was proposed after the Buffalo store and has been open for at least 3 years already.

Although everyone wants to throw blame around, bottom line, numbers don't lie. This corporate fishing store's numbers are down. I wouldn't be surprised if they shutter some of their stores because of this.
