You're right, many of them are caught with their pants down.

Sorry

was responding to DGREZB's post originally, because I believe him to be David Gates, the original singer in the band Bread:

Trezevant challenges Council, Bd of Ethics

Here is the latest from atty Wm Trezevant, an obvious challenger to Davis for his Council seat:

Trezevant To Davis: "Stand Up And Answer All Questions Or Resign!"

Written by Glenn Gramigna, Editor

PROMINENT BUFFALO LAWYER TREZEVANT URGES DAVIS TO STOP HIDING FROM INVESTIGATORS...COMMON COUNCIL TO RELEASE BOARD OF ETHICS REPORT

Prominent Buffalo Attorney Bill Trezevant has a simple message for troubled Ellicott District Common Council Member Brian Davis: "Stand up and answer all the questions being asked of you!"

"I believe that Brian Davis should stand up and answer all questions journalists and law enforcement offiicials have for him," he states. "I think it's clear to everyone that the definition of leadership is to lead by example, not to play hide and seek with his constituents, his fellow members of the Common Council, and most importantly, with federal, state, and local prosecutors. After all, if he's got nothing to hide, he should have no problem answering all their questions. If he can't answer them, he should resign."

If Councilman Davis refuses to resign, whose job is it to resolve the prevailing controversy?...Trezevant believes the Common Council should play a prominent role.

"Given the nature of the long running controversy and in light of the Mayor's public statement that this is a matter for the Council to resolve, it seems to me that the Common Council could start by asking for the release of the results of the ethics investigation that was done by the city's Board of Ethics led by Chairman Douglas Coppola," Trezevant declares. "Just yesterday, Common Council President Dave Franczyk called on Councilman Davis to come clean. Clearly the citizens of the City of Buffalo have the right to know what their own Board of Ethics found out regarding Councilman Davis."

"So the least the Common Council can do is to demand that the Buffalo Board of Ethics release its findings in this matter," he continues. "If the Board of Ethics has not finished their report, then the Counciil should demand that the report be completed immediately. Otherwise, this situation can only bring embarassment to the Common Council and ridicule to our city."

Attorney Trezevant expands on the latter point, noting that there is more involved here than just the seemingly endless attempt to get to the bottom of Councilman Davis' shenanigans.

"Right now there are six separate investigations of the behavior of Councilman Davis including those of the Buffalo US Attorney's Office's public corruption unit, the FBI, the New York State Attorney General's Office, the US Dept. of Housing and Urban Affairs' Inspector General and the Erie County District Attorney's Office as well as the Buffalo Board of Ethics," Trezevant points out. "And, so far there have been no tangible results. Right now we are becoming the poster child for bad government and all because of one Common Council Member. In my view, it's got to stop!"

Davis is consistently irresponsible

Davis remains consistent in his irresponsible unaccountability.

It becomes ever more distressing that neither the Council nor Bd of Ethics has taken action to address Davis destructive impact on the effectiveness of City govt.

Davis stays silent about investigation

By Brian Meyer, NEWS STAFF REPORTER
Updated: November 10, 2009, 3:53 PM

A Common Council member remained mum today about a criminal probe into allegations that he may have engaged in questionable financial dealings.

Ellicott representative Brian C. Davis walked briskly away from about 10 reporters and photographers following today's Council meeting, refusing to answer questions.

Last week, state police and an investigator from the Erie County District Attorney's Office showed up in City Hall in hopes of talking with the embattled lawmaker. But Davis didn't show up for two committee meetings that he is assigned to attend.

Reporters asked him today about investigators' futile attempts to find him during their recent visit. But as Davis left Council Chambers and headed directly to his office, he repeatedly said "I have no comment" and "I don't know what you're talking about."

At one point, a reporter asked him about speculation that he might have agreed to a plea deal. He initially muttered "No I have not," but then immediately changed it to "I have no comment."

A Buffalo News investigation in April disclosed that Davis had been embroiled in numerous financial problems. He had been the target of 10 liens and lawsuits. His campaign accounts had been frozen, his wages garnisheed and his driver's license suspended.

He was also the target of controversy involving an ill-fated restaurant that received city and county subsidies. Davis shifted block grant funds earmarked for his district to assist One Sunset, a restaurant that was in the Delaware District. Later, a building owner who leased space to One Sunset said Davis wrote him a $3,500 check to cover some rent at the restaurant, but the check bounced.

Davis has told The Buffalo News his attorney has advised him not to make any statements. Last week, Davis denied that he intentionally dodged investigators, claiming he only missed the Nov. 4 committee meetings because they ended quickly, before he arrived.

Your not the first and won't be the last..............hang in there my brother!

Davis does not return phone calls, did not apologize to anybody in court, his blog has disappeared & he has been silent on facebook.

His constituents should storm his office (& his subsidized newbuild house in his struggling district?)

Here is the latest from Facebook . . . Brian Davis publicizing toys & food for poor Hispanics (Nov 9) & urging a vote for the Mayor (Nov 3) & three posts from supporters . . . Apologies to come later?

Brian C. Davis

wants to thank you all for your Love, Support, & Friendship during this difficult time. An honest mistake occurred & I take responsibility for this action! I am sorry for this & the unjust stress it has caused my family, friends & most importantly the residents of the Ellicott District. I am proud of the partnership we... forged over the 7 1/2 years & the approximate $1 Billion invested in the district during this time.
