Investigators can't find Davis at City HallBy Brian Meyer, News Staff Reporter, Updated: November 05, 2009, 3:58 PM /

When county and state investigators trekked to City Hall on Wednesday to question an embattled Common Council member, they couldn't find him. That's because Ellicott representative Brian C. Davis did not show up for two Council committee meetings he is supposed to attend.

Wow, i've got an easly slogan for anyone running for the council. "I'm healthy and i won't have any long term absences". You'd be a shoe in!

i wonder how much all these "absences" have cost the city.

SAD PART IS...NOT ONE ELECTED OFFICIAL..HAS SHOWN OR EXPRESSED ANY OUTRAGE...IS THIS WHAT THEY CALL HONOR AMONG THIEVES.
AND the citizens/voters of Buffalo...ACCEPT this as status quo...and we wonder why Buffalo is growing hemmoroids!!

He was probably holed-up in a 40k new build foreclosure dealing spades from the bottom of the deck.

Brian's blog & facebook profile

Brian Davis has dabbled with, and pretty much abandoned, Inter-net communication with his constituents.

He initiated a blog in January 2006, which has stimulated merely 5 responses in over 3 1/2 years, one removed.

Here is the latest (#5) from today, also to be removed?

His next most recent post had been on October 7, regarding the tax auction.

Missing Brian Davis shows up at City Hall today

The Bflo News does not comment on the irony of Davis presiding over the Police Oversight Committee, as he is being investigated for crimes himself.

At least CAO, one of Bflo's chief 'poverty agencies", has removed Davis as both board chair & board member, after Davis 'stole' poverty funds in his district to subsidize a restaurant in the richest city district.

The lack of ethical standards in the Common Council is an embarassment.

Missing Brian Davis shows up at City Hall today

Updated: November 06, 2009, 11:47 AM /

After going missing at City Hall Wednesday andThursday, Ellicott Council Member Brian C. Davis this morning presided over a meeting of the Council's Police Oversight Committee.

He declined to comment on the pending criminal probe into his financial dealings. But Davis told The Buffalo News he has not spoken with investigators in recent days, nor did he have any appointment to meet with them. He was addressing speculation in City Hall that investigators had made arrangements to interview him Thursday.

The Buffalo News reported in July that investigators have launched a probe of Davis. In recent months, federal investigators have obtained information related to Davis, the One Sunset restaurant deal and the city's block grant spending.

45 minutes later, Davis denies he was missing

Merely 45 minutes after the report above, Bflo News reports that Davis denies he was 'missing'.

He is obviously willing to play everybody for fools!

Hard-to-find Brian Davis says he was not missing

Updated: November 06, 2009, 12:30 PM /

After investigators and reporters couldn't find him at City Hall Wednesday and Thursday, Ellicott Council Member Brian C. Davis this morning presided over a meeting of the Council's Police Oversight Committee.

But in a brief interview with The Buffalo News today, Davis denied that he was "missing" from City Hall or that he was trying to dodge questioning by state and county investigators who showed up at Council proceedings Wednesday. The embattled lawmaker said he was in the building and only missed two committee meetings because they ended quickly, before he arrived.

He denied that he intentionally dodged state police and an investigator from the Erie County District Attorney's office who came to City Hall hoping to question him.

Davis declined to comment on the pending criminal probe into his financial dealings, saying he is following the advice of his attorney. But Davis said that he has not spoken with investigators in recent days, nor did he have any appointment to meet with them. He was addressing speculation in City Hall that investigators had made arrangements to interview him Thursday.

The Buffalo News reported in July that investigators have launched a probe of Davis. In recent months and weeks, investigators from various agencies have obtained information related to Davis, the One Sunset restaurant deal and the city's block grant spending.

Davis was involved in the One Sunset saga, a Delaware Avenue restaurant that received city and county subsidies before it went belly-up. Davis, shifted block grant funds earmarked for his district to assist the business, which was in the Delaware District.

Later, a building owner that lease space to One Sunset filed a complaint saying Davis wrote him a $3,500 check that bounced to cover one month's rent for the restaurant. Buffalo police subsequently ruled the check was a civil matter, rather than a criminal complaint.

Oh, he was in the building, no doubt. He was hiding in a bathroom, waiting for the nasty old investigators to go away.
