Actually, FOX is the #1 cable (and satellite) ONLY news channel. ABC, NBC and CBS are still on cable (and satellite), so their claim is BUNK unless they specifically say:

"FOX is the #1 cable/satellite-only news channel."

Of course, this is using only numbers they like to make themselves #1.

CNN is the #1 cable/satellite-only news channel, if they refuse to count FOX, because FOX is not actually 'news'. Touche!

These are broadcast channels and so they can be received using an antenna while you have to pay cable to receive their channels.

Exactly! You can get all three of those chanels free with an anteana not so much with CNN or FOX news.

Additionally, the "big 3" have higher regulations on what they can say and when over cable channels!

It's funny how Fox News is for all the right wing wackos, yet its ratings consistently beat its competition.

That's odd for a lunatic fringe network.

Notice many who don't like fox still watch it all the time.

I agree that Fox News can't be #1 because Fox is an entertainment and opinion channel, not a news outlet.

90% of what Fox broadcasts is conjecture, opinion, innuendo or outright lies. They actively organized and participated in protests against the US Government. They even went to Florida State appellate court to defend their right to lie on the air. (And won, by the way.)

Do they have a bigger audience? Sure. But to rank Fox in the same category as journalists and news stations would be absolutely ludicrous.

So, do you get your "News" from Larry King or Nancy Grace?

For hard news, I rely on many sources, including the BBC, Associated Press and NPR. I also find "Reliable Sources" on CNN to be a nice, balanced look at current events. I like my news objective, rather than subjective.

My point was that Larry King or Nancy Grace are no different than Glen Beck or Bill O'Reilly in that their shows offer their opinions and not the news. CNN is no different than FOX in that aspect. To say that CNN or FOX offer exclusively news is erroneous at best. They are both news channels that offer mostly opinion. So, at this point it just depends on whose opinion you agree with. Most people agree with FOX.
NPR ... really? They're a sleepy-snobby MSNBC. I'm sure Muffy and Biff would disagree.

If Fox news actually reported the news, there would be riots in the streets of this country by morning. the entire social structure of this country would collapse with in hours.

National Media is DESIGNED to keep the veiwing public as DUMB and BRAIN DEAD as possible by using their clout as a way to undermine real news.

You really think Mr Obama went to St Martha's vinyard for a vacation? come on!

Every person, in the WORLD that actually means anything was there. Mr Obama went there for his marching orders. not for vacation.

And those of you defending Fox news... Wake the **** up already.

Remember that March on washington over the summer? American media - IE FOX reported that only about 100,000 showed up. meanwhile international news sites pegged it at more like 2.5 MILLION.

Its a no wonder our country is going to ****.
