Cheektowaga 2010 budget news

At the cheek. town board meeting on oct. 19 a new personal policy for non-union and elected officials will take effect on 01/01/2010. hmmmmmmm intresting stuff
contibutions by all of these employees toward health insurance premiums, a reduction in bennies, and for future town employees. the end of lifetime health insurance for all newly hired employees and elected officials. (elected officials WOW no free HI for the wife) retire after 00/01/2010 all these employees will be paying a percentage towards health insurance.

does the supervisor holtz and swiatek think the the unions would agree to any of this. the 3 police union to pay for HC i really don't think so, it will be like the county employees no contract for the past 4 years. never never happen

People in Cheektowaga seem content with the budget: http://www.buffalonews.com/cityregion/story/848466.html

They pull these things in every election cycle. Do they ever follow through after election day? We have a great opportunity today to change the course of Cheektowaga. Vote for the new guys and see if they will help or hurt Cheektowaga. Give then a chance to prove themselves. Or let another opportunity fall by the wayside and suffer through yet another 4 years of higher taxes, more appraisals, year trek to sign for the STAR program and the same old same old. We have the choice in our hands today!

My point was the lack of public input, everyone bitches and moans about taxes and the most important public hearing of the year that directly affects taxes and not one citizens spoke on it!?!?!? . If the public does not participate then the public is agreeing with what they put forward.

The public can respond with the ultimate decision. Vote the people out that don't do what you want them to. It is simple really. When the elite realise that they will lose their job they will start to listen. But only when they get the idea that they will lose their job. It's not magic, it's common sense.

How do they know what you want unless you express that to them in the hearings and other means? It is a two way street.
