FJB - just another policital hack?

All the news that is fit to print, is the motto of the NY Times. The Times may come and go but the murkiness of politics stays the same.

It has come to my attention that there is proof, yes visual proof and sworn testimony that FJB in his bid to become the local chair and also change the IP so that it better reflects his Foley/Reynolds Repuiblican views, obtained signatures on his petitions without actually witnessing them. This is against the law....all signatures MUST[ be colected in full view of the obtainer.

It has been heard that people are making more legal inquires into this....keep a watch on this thread as it may be updated with late breaking information.

However, to add insult to injury, it appears that FJB's remarks about Hamburg elected officials also has caught the eyes of various attornies(sp). Whether or not legal proceedings will follow, this is not yet known. You have to love this kind of interesting factual news that you so seldom see on this MB.

SOunds like TheRightView could be spreading rumors as others do.

Until the "government" controls thier own "illegal" issues they should worry about the people trying to get into politics. SOrt of like the pot calling the kettle black doesn't it?

Now if FJB was forging sigs or something on that order I could see an issue.

What's going on is that FJB and his minions have total control over all kinds of extra proxy forms. Forms were mailed to all the elected committeemen (well, not ALL of them -- a lot of known pro-Orsini people mysteriously never received their forms in the mail), but the Secretary (controlled by Sandy) and FJB (ditto) have been running from Eden to Grand Island trying to get people to sign dual proxies, so they can get thrown out by the Secretary, who gets to sit as judge, jury and executioner all in one. Should make for some fun tomorrow night.

Sounds like they're cheating, doesn't it? Nah....remember -- these are the REFORMERS!

True, I could be spreading rumors but this would a first time. I know there is a first time for everything, but such is the nature of the beast that is politics, what is done to you usually comes back to haunt you.

I look forward to anyone looking into my petition drive. It was all done above board. Further more this smear campaign is in response to my taking affidavits on the fact that specific Orsini supporters violated the court order ruling the proxy submission and reorganization meeting. In two instances a supporter on Orsini's team actually took mail before the recipient opened and looked at it. That's mail fraud. Legal Affidavit's were taken on this issue as well as that proxies were gathered by specific people and then group mailed to the secretary. The court order and proxy instructions specifically stated that proxies not mailed directly from the recipient wouldn't be counted.

The bottom line is it is all moot because there will not be a quorum tomorrow night. Orsini didn't get enough proxies or weighted vote to call one by himself or with his team regardless of the rules or court order. The people against him decided tonight not to show up at the reorg so their proxies can't be counted.

This means the County IP will fall to the control of the State IP. The problem here is that there is a specific time frame to do this and that expired when Orsini took Secretary Corrigan to court. Orsini didn't ask for any special dispensation to extend the time frame to form what is called an ICO (interim county organization). So technically he can't form the ICO. The election law says that the party had 20 days to call the reorg and 3 days after that to file the officers or ICO with the board of elections. All that should have been done by early last week. His suite againt Corrigan pushed this time frame way past the legal deadline.

I don't agree with letting this party fail in erie county. I offered my proxy votes to Orsini so a quorum could be achieved, but he will need a lot more than me to get it.

This whole post is bull****. Osini's team and Corrigan's team met at Illio's on Oct. 1st and Orsini's wife and Mary Rose Gaughan went through every single envelope checking names and addresses against their list. Then they were stuffed in front of attorneys from both sides and the attorneys mailed the proxies out them themselves. Furthermore all the extra proxies were taken and destroyed by the attorneys. The proxies were printed on special unreproducible paper that is very expensive, they also have several controls to make sure that they are authentic.

Is there anyone here that can confirm this is how they do this?

I'm supprized that political partys are so untrust worthy that they need controls in place like this.

Welcome to the world of politics where no one trusts no one, even in the same party.

It's sad though. So much good could come for the area if a non self serving group had control of a political party.

I think where our politics go wrong in WNY is that the "volunteer party members" eventually work thier way into paid positions on our dime. Once they are there it's like pulling teeth to get rid of them. It's almost like who are they serving... us or themselves.

The question I guess would be....did the secretary bring the proxies and show proof of no quorum?

He said he had them and there were not enough and then left not allowing anyone to verify his statement.

No, he did not bring them in. They may have been in his car. He is allowed by the rules of the party and the judges order, to throw out proxies that were handled improperly. I know for a fact there were a lot that were sent in improperly. Many were picked up blank from the committee members and then showed up at Corrigan's apartment. with a vote cast. There were a lot mailed from a single source. All of that is against the court order and Lou has the right to disqualify them. Since he disqualified enough that there wasn't a quorum he was not under any obligation to turn over the proxies to anybody. The judge will decide if Corrigan was correct or not in his disqualifications. The judge will also have to decide if the proxies sent in against Orsini will count towards a quorum when the people they were assigned to didn't show to cast them. It's all a very sticky issue. I'm embarrassed by the whole situation.

It sounds like the Orsini people won? Is that true? What will happen to you FJB? How is Sandy taking it and Joe Kelly- did the people at the meeting get made at Lou?

There is no word on if Orsini won. The judge will have to decide that. I am going to continue to work within the IP in Hamburg to make sure our party makes our town a better place to live. Nothing is final about any of this. Sandy and Joe are obviously upset about how all this has turned out. I have had just a short conversation with Joe Kelly since last night. He is very mad at me, I hope when he calms down that he sees that I did what was best for the party at this point. I guess the best way to describe me to the IP leadership right now would be," The Loyal Opposition".
