    is preferable to naps

    PROVIGIL

From: Jake Sullivan To: Hillary Clinton Date: 2011-10-24 14:29 Subject: PROVIGIL

UNCLASSIFIED U.S. Department of State Case No. F-2014-20439 Doc No. C05784708 Date: 10/30/2015 RELEASE IN FULL From: Sullivan, Jacob J Sent: Tuesday, October 25, 2011 9:29 PM To: Subject: Provigil So I was wrong that it was invented by the military, but right about military use of/interest in it. Background on the drug below. Provigil (Modafinil) • Provigil is used to treat excessive sleepiness caused by narcolepsy or shift work sleep disorder (sleepiness during scheduled waking hours among people who work at night or on rotating shifts). It is also often prescribed to treat excessive sleepiness in patients with Parkinson's, Alzheimer's, and multiple sclerosis. Additionally, it has also gained a following among students, truckers, and others who want to stay awake for extended periods of time. o Modafinil was developed by the French firm Lafon and was approved by the FDA to treat narcolepsy in 1998. It is now sold under the brand name Provigil by the Pennsylvania drugmaker Cephalon. o Modafinil gained attention in the medical community because it is the first effective stimulant with no significant potential for abuse. Modafinil is in a class of medications called wakefulness promoting agents; it works by changing the amounts of certain natural substances in the area of the brain that controls sleep and wakefulness. o The precise way that modafinil works is unknown: it seems to slow the release a GABA, a sleep promoter in the brain. It may also affect the histamine system, which is connected to sleep regulation. o It can be used for two or three day stretches at a time, with few known side effects and little risk of addiction. Provigil's impact on the body is different from other pick-me-ups, which tend to be indiscriminate in their function: it confines its activity to the particular neurological processes connected with wakefulness and does not act as a broad stimulant. This is probably why it has not gained popularity as a street drug. o Amphetamines, on the other hand, promote wakefulness by causing dopamine to flood to the brain. Dopamine is a "broad hitter;" it sets the heart racing and makes the user feel high, impacting the entire central nervous system. Caffeine affects a different pathway that deals with the neurotransmitter adenosine, and is also a broad stimulant. The military, for obvious reasons, is interested in the consequences of prolonged sleep deprivation and has tested modafinil heavily, particularly on pilots. o A study carried out by the Air Force Research Laboratory found that fatigued pilots on modafinil maintained flight accuracy within approximately 15-30 percent of baseline levels, whereas performance under the no-treatment condition declined by as much as 60-100 percent. Here, benefits were most noticeable after 24-32 hours of continuous wakefulness. A French study yielded similar results and found that for missions of about 24 hours, modafinil for soldiers is preferable to naps. o In the U.S. military, modafinil has been approved for use on certain Air Force missions. The French, British, and Indian militaries have all expressed interest in modafinil.

ICYMI, at 2:47 am London time, a man in black scaled the wall of the embassy where Julian Assange lie sleeping. The man was spotted by security and was able to get away.

Speculation over an attempt on the life of Wikileaks founder and political refugee Julian Assange is rife today after a man was detected scaling the wall of the Ecuadorian Embassy in London, where Mr. Assange has been living for the past four years. In a statement released by their Twitter account, the Wikileaks organisation reported a “Male intruder” had been caught climbing a wall and window of the embassy at 02:47 Monday morning. The organisation, which gained global fame by publishing caches of leaked government documents online, said the intruder then “fled after being caught by security”.

I discussed Hillary's health with a physician family member - the concussion, the blood clots, the Coumadin, the hyperactive thyroid, the deep vein thrombosis, the obesity. She's not in good shape. Doctors don't prescribe Coumadin to healthy people; it's only used as a last resort when the patients condition is so bad the risk of a blood clot is higher than the risk of the blood thinner. And talk about risk - if she falls again, the Coumadin could exacerbate the bleeding.

Have you seen the photos and videos of her falling, of her being held up? She doesn't look well - I can only imagine the stress she is under. Here's a photo of her wearing the same green jacket she wore when she needed two men to help her up the stairs. She looks awfully sick in that photo. http://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2016...s-lupus-video/

The blood clots were dissolved, and she continues to take the Coumadin to prevent further issues, the same reason most people her age take prescription drugs.

I'd worry more about tRump having Alzheimer's than Clinton. It's part of his family medical history, he's 70 years old himself, plus he has a well documented reputation for saying things and then forgetting he said them. Why doesn't tRump release his medical records? If he's so healthy, let him put his money where his mouth is.

Mindcrime. Start skimming Hillary's emails that are being released. She just needs to go away. She can continue to line her pockets with her "non-profit".

Yes sir, the blood clot they found in her head was dissolved; she is diagnosed with "deep vein thrombosis" (DVT) - that is her history; It started with a clot in her leg in 1998. She has DVT - it doesn't go away - she is at risk of future blood clots as a result of her medical condition.

After countless sips of water, she unwraps something and puts it in her mouth. As her coughing continues, someone off camera hands her the same thing (Hillary takes it and promptly lays it down; Tim Keane is also at the ready, rushing up with yet another - seems she's surrounded by people rushing to aid her health issues, whether it's helping her stand, climb stairs, carry injectables and cough medication. She just got back from a Martha's Vineyard Vacation and should be well rested. She's not holding up well ...

It's bizarre that Trump has decided to go after Hillary's health, given that she's 2 years younger than him, and given that he has made no mention of proving his own health status. The guy is 70 years old. It's been 25 years since we've elected any new president over 55 years old.

Even one of his own henchman Ben Carson is saying that both candidates are "elderly" and should both release full medical records.

That's fine miles; they can both submit med recs. Btw, if you find any videos of Trump looking low energy, needing assistance or looking sick, please share... ...

Is that the grown-up way we evaluate someone's health? by searching the interwebs for random comments and unrelated videos that might show them stumbling, or tired? C'mon. There are doctors out on the web that are pondering Trump's mental wellness. Should we just take their word for it? I agree that both candidates should release their medical records, AND their tax returns pronto.

"Trump likes to brag about his "high energy" campaign schedule, but slow and intermittent with copious amounts of rest periods wins the race!" ~ ann coulter on Hillary's campaign

Low energy...sort of like Jeb Bush's - remember when he said he was the "joyful turtle" who would win the race? Jeb and Hillary - both with huge amounts of money backing them.

All I know is I'm tired of the same old BS starting at our town board, state level and federal level when it comes to politics and pissing our money away. I consider Hillary part of that issue just by the comments she has made in the past. Biggie for me is the increase of refugees of 500%.

I hope Trump does well during the debates and just crushes Hillary. If he wins and points out incompetence I hope it trickles down to the state level and lower.

Anyone know who is running for the Cheektowaga Town board this year that supports Hillary? We could use this to keep them off our town board. Hopefully even end their political careers.

I just heard Gary Johnson's ad on the radio. He makes his case that the two party system is a failure and both parties are corrupt, then names Hillary AND Trump as unacceptable choices. GJ lumps Trump in with all the career political establishment types (who reject Trump!), and that is where he lost me.

I agree that the process needs more political parties/choices, but, now is not the time. It's political suicide to think a 3rd party candidate stands a chance against a R or D TODAY. And, fwiw, Trump was smart enough to understand that. I expect more 3rd party strength in the near future. This election will probably cause a splintering of the Republican Party (good!) maybe with a nationalist faction, as well as a fractured democrat party with a socialist faction.

This election is too important for a libertarian, or any spoiler...that's how we got Bill Clinton!
