Let me word out a budget vote. I wouldn't be cutting items like sports, busing and so forth. We can start on cutting benefit packages like countless people have in the private sector along with some of the obnoxious salaries some (not all) make. If one of our employees made a comment like "You know in the private sector I can make way more" my answer would be.. "don't let the door hit you on the ass on your way out" there are other qualified people who will do the job for a fair amount.
You are 100% correct. We won't save the taxation problem by throwing our hands up in the air complaining about it. We just have to work harder on making the changes we need to implement these cuts. State constitution time to change some of the labor laws that basically give a monopoly of services to small groups of people.

Yes, starting somewhere is like looking at Mount Everest with regard to the taxes here. It is overwhelming. Most people right or wrong just give up. We can't even get this state to pass legislation addressing corruption in Albany, I mean it's seriously f'd. As far as school taxes it would require the citizenry to vote against NYSUT which is responsible for most of our school tax expenditure. Healthcare and pensions also add to the burden. Most states would rather just have people leave then take on any meaningful tax reform and at last count I don't think NY is too open to public discourse,, just ask any anti safe act person.
Somethings are just hopeless, just like Illinois, Detroit, Fresno...etc. etc. Sometimes it's just easier to leave,, kinda like a bad relationship.
WNY, you asked for my opinion? I'll offer a suggestion instead. Stop by the Social Security office downtown some day. It's like a meeting of the UN General Assembly as they line up trying to qualify for disability or some other taxpayer funded benefit. Just so you know this is brought to you by outfits like Catholic Charities working hand in hand with democrats to provide a constant source of democratic voters. I stopped my contributions to Catholic Charities years ago over crappola like this.
So how did the voting go this week? Did Cheektowaga residents approve themselves another tax increase?

Allow me to amend a previous post to this thread. I suggested that a trip to the Social Security office downtown was like attending a meeting of the UN General Assembly. Actually, it's more like attending a meeting of the Arab League. It's a bit unfair to drag other groups into something.
