Bucky Phillips on America's Most Wanted

So some people say any attention is good attention. Is the Bucky Phillips story something worth getting WNY in the national spotlight?

Not true, the Chautaugua Institute makes national news for sponsoring distinguished speakers for its seasonal themed-forum. This year, it was Al Gore "An Inconvenient Truth"

You tell me RES ! ! ! 1 trooper dead and 2 others wounded. Another widow and fatherless family. But hell, it was only an overpaid public servant.

Why not a practice the innocent until proven guiltytheory. There is a high possibilty he done it but there is also beyond a reasonable doubt he did not do it.

Lets not forget I made my comment before anyone passed away. Why are you not sitting here front seat complaining we are not paying our troops in IRAQ more? Are they not in your union?

This is a daily occurance to countless families who have members serving in IRAQ.....

    just another anti-public servant post

3 Troopers getting shot wasn't enough. Now that one died I guess it is. Wow. Some can't hide their disdain for public employees, even Cops who are out there maintaining order, protecting them.

I have no problems with how they have gone after bucky my only complaint was that the same effort has not been used to solve all the other murders in our area. another weekend has passed so it most be at least 54 by now .we have two or more every week where is the massive hunt for those killers. were are the road blocks and vehicle searchs in Buffalo where are the door to door searches. a death is a death they should all be important enough to get the same attention

you wouldn't want to pay for that

get ready for a huge tax increase. If they were to increase manpower to those levels....you think people aren't happy now paying taxes, look out. I agree with you on the premis that the Death penalty, when and if it does ever go back into effect, should apply to all, not just CO's , Cops , and Judges. I mean I am no different than any other working guy. Just because I took a Civil Servant test and became a Cop shouldn't put my life at any more worth than anybody elses. I never understood that part of the law. I've got a lot of friends that aren't Cops, that , had they done an answer better on the test, would have been. Yet if someone kills them, it is murder 2nd, for me, murder 1st, which used to carry the death penalty.

Nice deflection. Except I don't see you ripping into them as overpaid and over-benefitted or I would. But it ALWAYS seems to take someone dying to get a point across. Does that mean the ones that survive don't deserve the same respect? Oh and by the way there are police officers that are over in Iraq also. In fact there were as many as 4 Amherst police officers over in Iraq and they served on more than one occasion there. One of them is still over there. Next you'll accuse them of double dipping the taxpayers.

I'm not a police officer so I can only give my opinion. But someone that can execute a police officer does not fear anything. If he can face the punishment for killing a cop he sure as hell can face it for killing you and I. IMO, they don't get the same attention because of this. Cop killers and serial killers are the most dangerous people on earth.

The guy's in Iraq are underpaid, with out a doubt. But don't forget they are working for conservative Republicans who haven't raised the minimum wage in nine years. What else would you expect?

I'm Not a Bucky Supporter, but...

...during the last week, I heard two references - one on P.M. Buffalo and the other in Donn Esmonde's column today comparing Bucky to Charles Manson!

Didn't Manson claim to be a prophet or a god and set himself up as the head of a cult? Didn't Manson dismember and ordered his followers to dismember innocent people? Wasn't his "family" not really his family but a group of LSD laden brain-washed followers who worshipped him? Again, not a supporter, but, sorry Donn, I don't see the comparison.
