Do some research...prior to the town hiring Fenz they paid out a significant amount more for the firm to do the same job. Every phone call, every meeting, every single little thing the town was charged. Now Fenz is doing the same job around the clock for THOUSANDS less. The supervisors office prior had multiple staff, now down to one. Please tell me how 1 person doing the job of 2 people isn't a savings??
The sewers were neglected by PRIOR ADMIN!!!! Meegan had to start where wacky Wally left with the town in disarray.
So a raise for the attorney and a raise for the secretary are still LESS than previous years. Pensions are from the state not the town and there not getting an increase in benefits so look past the smoke and mirrors and try looking at the facts in front of you.

Sorry not factual - increase in pay = increase in life time pension benefit. Also saying the pension comes from the state is wrong. The Taxpayers of your Town pay into the pension system for each covered employee. The State Administers the fund - home owners pay for that pension. For life !

Look I am not against the person - I object to misinformation. It will affect taxes.

I also believe what dtwarren stated was - they took out the bond/loan in 2012 so you've already been paying it (increase in taxes already happened) and its in the taxes you already pay - so you shouldn't see another raise ! Just a play on words .

Check the last couple years in your budget and see how much of the total budget is for pensions and benefits .

If you research the 1/14 Reorganizational Meeting you would have known it was Supervisor Meegan, Hart, and Henley abolished the Town Atty. position and hired a private firm. At the 1/15 Reorganization Meeting Fenz accepted the Town Atty. position at a $50,000 and benefit, now after 1 year was it Fenz,or Meegan ,Hart and Henley who believe he is entitled to a $17000 raise for a part time position. Fenz settled the Americorp debt for $400,000. Americorp owed West Seneca $550,000,a loss of $150,000 to taxpayers. Meegan,Hart and Henley accepted this settlement on the premise of Americorp possibly going bankrupt. Still here today! .The town budget will result in another year of residents paying more in taxes then our neighboring towns and still not receiving a tax rebate, while 37 towns and residents receive theirs for 2 years. . Sewer

It very difficult to stay under a cap when your giving out raises, spending like the leaves falling off the trees....and you just trim the budget but not enough to reduce spending to get under the cap....this town board is a epic failure!

FYI: Cheektowaga's taxes are higher due to loosing population at a rate of 1000 resident/yr for the past 25yrs and the town spending keeps increasing, Amherst taxes are less then Cheektowaga(Amherst population is increasing). WS population is down 2.63% 2000-10....less property owners.

With stagnate or increased spending the remaining property owners will pay more!

These town boards keep ignoring the population drop and depend more on assessments going up...WRONG answer to the high tax problem!

I bet when they hired him at $50,000.00 they told everyone how much money they saved tax payers
    - now they raise the pay and say, "But look at all the work he does"
    - well he agreed to the $50,000.00 salary knowing what the job entailed and if its truly no 40 hours a week position - a raise is BS.

This is how Politicians play - see what we do for you ! We saved you thousands of tax dollars by hiring him at $50,000.00!

People wonder why so many lawyers and supposedly successful business men get into Politically appointed positions. Their other jobs/businesses don't have the tax funded pensions and tax funded benefits plan. It would come out of their pockets - this way the taxpayers foot the bill.

Most of them then keep working their other job/profession at the same time - what a tax funded gimmick/scam !
